Jan-paul de Beer and Oskar co-founded Brandfighters after getting bored at their jobs. They snuck out of the office to brainstorm business ideas and came up with a plan to start their own advertising company. They pitched the idea to their boss and entered a business competition. In their first year, they built a website, logo, and did some marketing to gain clients and press attention. They became profitable in their first year and needed to get an office. They had early problems with a hijacked brand name but hired interns. They were awarded as marketing pioneers in 2010. In their second year, they doubled their turnover and profit and started a new project focused on social media.
