1. Proportions are determined during asphalt
rubber binder design.
2. ARB is proportioned with a computer-controlled
blender
3. ARB is interacted with agitation for a minimum of
45 minutes at temperatures between 375F (190
C) and 425F (218C).

18. Testing for Use
1. Viscosity is tested after the ARB has reacted for
45 minutes.
2. Hand held rotational viscometers (Haake, Rion or
equivalent) are used to monitor the viscosity over
time for quality control and assurance.
3. Viscosity at 375F (190C) must be between 1500
and 4000 centipoise.
