Grid-Intelligent Solar: Unleashing the Full Potential of Utility-Scale Solar ...SolarPower Europe
This report shows that solar is not only the lowest cost power source in many regions and crucial to meet EU climate targets, but also a reliable partner that helps to keep the grid stable and supports Europe’s security of supply.
Electric vehicles (EVs) coupled with low-carbon electricity sources offer the potential for
reducing greenhouse gas emissions and exposure to tailpipe emissions from personal trans-

shifting. In addition, while many studies have focused on the use phase in comparing
transportation options, vehicle production is also significant when comparing conventional
and EVs.

Hydro integrated renewable energy power system (hydro, solar and wind) technologies have the potential to provide long-lasting solutions to the problems compounded by the economic, social and environment sectors in Papua New Guinea (PNG) for isolated pockets of masses in rural areas secluded by the tough terrains. The use of hydro integrated renewable energy technologies in rural electrification in PNG will also play a crucial role in raising the living standards of rural people through jump start connectivity for information technology for education and telemedicine services. To implement hydro integrated renewable energy power systems in PNG, it is important to have appropriate energy policy framework for the PNG energy sector. The authors present economically viable, detailed, off-the-shelf technology for a hydro integrated renewable energy (hydro, solar and wind) micro-grid power system for sustainable living in the rural areas of PNG with a case study.

Share Company Value without Sharing Equity. Many companies wonder whether there is a way to tie a long-term incentive to the value of the company without giving away equity. The answer is yes and the solution is Phantom Stock. This concept has become the answer for many company leaders who feel reluctant about sharing stock but feel equally strong that their key people should participate in the value they help create. This presentation will describe how phantom stock works and why it has become such a valuable solution for business leaders seeking an alternative to equity sharing. Whether you have a phantom stock plan now or are just considering whether it would work in your circumstance, you will not want to miss this presentation!
The European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan)Leonardo ENERGY
The European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) aims to accelerate the development and deployment of low-carbon technologies. It seeks to improve new technologies and bring down costs by coordinating research and helping to finance projects. The SET-Plan promotes research and innovation efforts across Europe by supporting technologies with the greatest impact on the EU's transformation to a low-carbon energy system. It promotes cooperation amongst EU countries, companies, research institutions, and the EU itself.

Integrated, adaptable and affordable packages for the deep renovation of buildings
European Union fixed ambitious objectives in terms of building renovation. To reach them, market actors are searching for innovative solutions, providing a higher integration and adaptation to different situations in European countries. The refurbishment packages will also set oneself apart from other solutions if they succeed to have controlled budget.
The EU H2020 project STUNNING (SusTainable bUsiNess models for the deep reNovation of buIldiNGs) has the goal to promote successful and innovative building renovation packages and business models around a virtual and collaborative knowledge sharing platform: the STUNNING Renovation Hub, so as to accelerate their adoption.
After a short introduction of the STUNNING project by Karine Laffont and Nicolas Peraudeau from DOWEL Management (coordinators), three speakers from European projects will present their solutions.
Ensuring European Energy Transition: key research and innovation actions need...Leonardo ENERGY
Konstantin Staschus and Sophie Dourlens will present the new ETIP SNET Implementation Plan (IP) 2017-2020 which is to be released on 5 October 2017
The Implementation Plan aims at listing the short-term priorities for R&I in ETIP SNET’s scope and as defined by the action 4 of the EU’s Strategic Energy Technology Plan: Increase the resilience, security and smartness of the energy system. It is based upon the ETIP-SNET R&I roadmap 2017-2026 which specifies the long-term R&I activities for the evolution of the European energy system and published in January 2017.
The Implementation Plan is the result of a long and comprehensive stakeholders consultation process which makes it widely recognised by all the European energy transition stakeholders.
ETIP SNET: For an innovative and successful European energy transition Leonardo ENERGY
The ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) role is to guide Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) to support Europe’s energy transition, more specifically, its mission is to set-out a vision for RD&I for Smart Networks for Energy Transition and engage stakeholders in this vision.
In this webinar the ETIP SNET role and main priorities will be introduced by its chairman Konstantin Staschus. Eric Peirano will present the new 10 year ETIP SNET Research & Innovation Roadmap 2017-2026. The roadmap provides a system view and addresses a scope larger than smart electricity grids by encompassing interactions with the gas and heat networks and focuses on integration of all flexibility solutions into the power system, including energy storage technologies.

Can Europe deliver on energy efficiency? Investigating the effectiveness of A...Leonardo ENERGY
Article 7 is a key provision of the European Energy Efficiency Directive which established a set of binding measures to help the EU reach its 20% energy efficiency target by 2020. Each member state has to calculate its own savings target, and demonstrate how it will deliver the target between 2014 and 2020. This webinar introduces the main features of Article 7, shows how member states have implemented it, and discusses the challenge of evaluating its impact given the heterogeneity of policy responses.
The webinar will conclude with a number of options how a revised Article 7 can be simplified and streamlined, how transparency of implementation can be improved and how member states could be supported to deliver energy efficiency more effectively.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
