Music videos that have
inspired my own
Burna boy- hallelujah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXNTIMshdak
In this video, the artist is seen wearing white clothing to portray the representation of his lyrics, his black durag represents his culture and
plays up to the sterotype of a black male. His theme throughout the video is blessings which is also the theme of my music video. I will also
capture the artist in white clothing however it will be a tracksuit as I feel this has connatations of a stereotypical black british male which will
put across both the purity/blessing theme as well as the artist not forgetting his past.
In the video a number of shots have been used. An example is wide shots which was taken with drones to capture wider footage of the scene
which is what I will do in terms of incorporating the church scenes into the video. Close up shots of the artist praying and looking up towards
the sky (heaven) are used highlighting the importance of his actions.
The video is set in daylight representing the brightness of the artist future. The bright skies are significant in the video because of this and so
I will make sure to record during the day in the first half of my video.
Kendrick Lamar - Don't Kill My Vibe
In this video, the artist is once again dressed in white clothing and in a church scene. However in
particular there are close up shots of important statues and stain glass windows in the church which I will try
to include in the start of my music video.
Surrounding shots of just the artist using a performance based scene is shown 40 seconds into the video. I
will use the various shots shown in this video (such as eye level mid shots and close up shots) to protray the
performance part of my video.
Throughout the video we see the main theme of holiness however during the later scenes , we see the
celebration of the artist with his friends. This for me represents the artist being down at times however
blessings keep his head being held high
