➤ Medical practice dealing with the
health of a female reproductive
system ( vagina, uterus, and
ovaries) and the breasts.
➤ During a visit to the
gynecologist, he/she can perform
many tests to determine the
health of a female. One of which
is a PAP test.
➤ A PAP test is the removal
staining, and study of cells taken
from the vagina and cervix. This
can determine the early stages of
uterine cancer.

picture is what one form a cerivcal cancer may look like and the bottom right is what a room might
look like while seeing a gynecologist.
4. GYNECOLOGISTS
➤ These doctors diagnose and treat
patients, monitor women throughout
pregnancy, perform preventative tests
and procedures, assist with child
delivery and counsel women with
postpartum depression.
➤ These doctors even deal with issues
with breast, uterine and cervical
cancer, pelvic disorder and STD’s.
5. UTERUS
➤ The organ in which the fetus resides
in is called the “Uterus” or womb.
➤ The uterus is connected at both
ends. The superior part is connected
to each fallopian tube, while the
inferior part is connected to the
cervix.
➤ Lining the uterine cavity is a
moist mucous membrane
known as the “endometrium”.
It changes in thickness during
the menstrual cycle being
thickest during the period or
egg release from the ovaries.
