5. Artium:
Its permanent collection is considered to be one of the best selections
of Basque and Spanish contemporary art.
It was inaugurated on 26th April 2002 and it is an open and dynamic
museum.

In the Cathedral of Santa Maria you can see a fine collection of
religious artefacts from this province.
6. BIBAT. Fournier:
Bibat houses the Fournier Card Museum of Alava located in the
Renaissance mansion of Bendaña and the Alava Archaelogical Museum,
a new building designed by the architect Patxi Mangado.
Fine arts museums:
Housed in the Palacio de Augusri, in this museum you will find a fine selection
of Spanish art dating from the 18th and 19th centuries and a collection of
artworks that trace the development of Basque art from 1850 to 1950.

7. Natural history museum:
You will find this museum in the Torre de
Doña Ochanda, a 15th century fortified house
which formed part of the city's walls in
medieval times. The house was reconstructed
in the 16th century by Don Andrés Martínez
de Iruña who named it after his daughter,
Doña Ochanda.
The first floor of the Museum is given over
to the world of geology, including a large
number of pieces of amber, many of which
contain insect inclusions. The second floor
contains the Museum's botany and zoology
sections.

made of polychrome glass used in the
"Rosary of the Lanterns" procession

9. Centro Cultural Montehermoso:
The Centro Cultural
Montehermoso is dependent
on the Department of Culture
of Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council
and it can be defined as a
space for the production,
exhibition, and difusion of art
and contemporary thought.
Among its main objectives, we should
stand out the implementation of gender
equality policies.
Montehermoso is located in the old town
of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in a 16th century
Renaissance palace joined to the old 1885
Water Tank by an underground corridor.

Napoleonic time. Relive the Battle of Vitoria in 1813
in which British, Portuguese and Spanish troops under

12. The Green Belt of Vitoria-Gasteiz is the
result of an ambitious project to restore
and recover the peripheral areas of
Vitoria-Gasteiz, both from the
environmental and social viewpoint, in
order to create a large green area for
recreational use around the city.
What is the Green Belt?
Armentia

Olarizu
Salburua
Zabalgana
Zadorra
10 routes through the parks of
the Green Belt and the nearby
rural-natural space, which can be
done comfortably on foot in less
than two hours.
A circular itinerary 30.8 km in
length, ideal to travel by bicycle
which, like a large Route around
the city, links the parks of the
Green Belt.

13. Route for the sweet-toothed
Vitoria-Gasteiz has a centuries-old tradition of cake and pastry making.
The "route for the sweet-toothed" which the Tourist Office organises
allows visitors to get to know some of the secrets of the city's bakers and
at the same time make a traditional Basque desert with the help of one
of the Association of Artisan Baker's and Confectioners pastry chefs.

History and delicious nibbles, a perfect mix for discovering the city
centre. Use the bote-pote card which you top up, like a kitty and then go
out as a group and use it to pay for food and drinks at those bars that

Spanish professional basketball club from the
Basque city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. The club's
name sponsor is the Basque credit union Laboral
Kutxa.
Aker is the pet of the team.
Well-known players who have played with the
club have included Ramón Rivas, Marcelo Nicola…
Basque Country. Founded in 1921 it plays in Segunda
División, holding home matches at the 19,800-seater
Estadio Mendizorrotza.
Its biggest success was in 2001 when, in the year of its
debut in European competition, it was one of the
finalists in the 2001 UEFA Cup Final against Liverpool,
being defeated 5–4 by golden goal.
