Zafra is a beautiful and friendly Spanish town located in Badajoz, Extremadura with around 16,577 inhabitants currently. The population has grown steadily over the centuries from 5,280 in 1842. Zafra holds many festivals and traditions throughout the year, most notably the International Cattle Fair in June, considered one of the largest in Europe. In 2010, Zafra set the Guinness World Record for the largest cake fight with over 293 participants.
