Prayer is communication with God through talking and listening. It involves communion with God the Father, through Jesus the Son, and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Christians are called to pray always and everywhere, as well as at certain planned times and places. Prayer should be simple, focused, and involve one's whole body. The purpose of prayer is to grow closer in relationship to God and participate in God's work. When prayed with faith, prayer can be effective for healing and forgiveness.
