-Use adverbs of time.
- Use of adjectives.
- Bentuk kalimat (tenses) yang digunakan adalah yang menunjukkan kejadian di masa
lampau > past tenses
- Kata keterangan waktu yang biasa digunakan di awal kalimat seperti long time ago, once
upon a time
- Penggunaan kata sifat (adj) untuk memberikan gambaran lebih rinci dalam bentuk frasa kata
benda (noun phrase)

One day, there was a mouse deer. He was trapped in a hole that had been
made by a group of hunters.
The mouse deer screamed for help but no one heard him. It was hopeless for
him to escape from the trap. He waited and waited and finally an elephant
came. He was happy and asked for help but the elephant was not smart
enough to help him. The elephant did not know how to do.
In the end, the mouse deer got a bright idea. He said to the elephant, “Come
down here! Come down to this hole so you can help me get out!” Foolishly
The elephant agreed and followed the mouse deer’s order. The elephant
jumped down to the hole.
Of course the mouse deer quickly hopped on the elephant’s body and then
hopped out of the hole. He was free and leaving the elephant trapped in the
hole in turn.

1. Orientation: One day, there was a mouse
deer. He was trapped in a hole that had been

Pengenalan tokoh cerita kapan dan dimana terjadinya.
Pada cerita si kancil dan gajah diatas, jelas dinyatakan
bahwa orientasinya adalah si kancil itu sendiri dan
seekor gajah disuatu waktu.

He was happy and asked for help but the
elephant was not smart enough to help him.
Pertentangan atau permasalahan. Konsep dasar
masalah keinginan yang tidak seperti kenyataan. Si
kancil ingin keluar dari jebakan tapi tidak bisa. Pun si
gajah tidak tahu cara menolong si kancil.

24. 3. Resolution: He was free and leaving
the elephant trapped in the hole in
turn.
Pada akhirnya dengan sedikit tipu daya, si kancil bisa
keluar dari jebakan sementara si gajah si penolong
malah terjebak sendiri.

So many values can be iraenes from the example of the narrative
text above. There deer’s behavior is indeed clever but, in the
context of story above, we don’t need ti initate it. Each of us must
try, but be careful we cwn be the ones who will become victims,
so, we must be smart people in helping people.
Banyak nilai moral yang bisa dipelajari dari contoh narrative text fable diatas. Prilaku si kancil
memang cerdik dan pintar tapi dalam konteks cerita diatas, kita tidak perlu mencontohnya.
Setiap kita harus berusaha berbuat baik. Menolong adalah sikap yang terpuji. Namun hati-hati
kalau kita sendiri tidak waspada, bisa jadi malah menjadi korban. Maka mempunyai sikap
terpuji dan niat baik saja tidaklah cukup. Kita juga harus bijak.
