There are six main types of intergenerational conflicts according to a longitudinal study of generations: communication styles, habits and lifestyles, child rearing practices and values, politics/religion/ideology, work habits, and household standards. A survey found mixed opinions on whether girl's education is still a matter of conflict, most did not support intercaste marriages, and most thought joint families have more conflicts than nuclear families.
