Functional Directors
1. Dinesh K Sarraf – Chairman & Managing Director
 Commerce and Post Graduate degree holder from Shri Ram College Of
Commerce,Delhi University.Experience of over three decades in the oil and gas
industry.Joined ONGC in 1991 and has been handling various key roles since
then.
 Also chairman of various other ONGC group companies.
 Number of shares held in the company is around 3,192.
2. Mr. Shashi Shanker-Director(Technology & Field Services)
 Student of St.Xaviers College,Ranchi.Graduated in petroleum engineering
from Indian School Of Mines,Dhanbad.MBA in Finance from IGNOU and
general management trainee from IIM Lucknow.
 Head of Deep Water Multidisciplinary Team of ONGC and contributed
significantly for the same.
 Number of shares held in the company is around 3,712.
3. T.K.Sengupta – Offshore Director
 Graduate in chemical engineering from Jadavpur University,Calcutta.Also a
Diploma holder in management.
 Has had a balanced exposure to both onshore and offshore field operations.
 Associated with Organizational Transformation Project(OTP) and has been an
active member of many of ONGC’s organizational turning points.
 Number of shares held in the company is around 3,672.
4. D.D.Mishra-Human Resource Director
 Masters in Public Administration from Lucknow University.
 Known for his out of the box creativity and amicable nature.
 Aims to professionally steer the 30,000 plus geoscientists,engineers and managers
manning the energy company ,under a national mandate given to ONGC.
 Number of shares held in the company is around 1700.
5. A.K.Dwivedi-Director(Exploration)
 Post graduate from Kanpur University and holds a distinguished career of more
than 34 years in ONGC.
 Has undergone various development programs and has managed ONGC’s prime
exploration portfolios all over India.
 Being a core team member of joint project team he has been involved with
redesign of structure,systems and business processes.Also responsible for
formulating long term strategy for ONGC with the aim of doubling the reserve
accretion of ONGC by year 2020.
 Number of shares held in the company is around 820.
6. V.P.Mahawar- Onshore Director
 Mechanical graduate from University of Raipur,Mr. Mahawar started career
with ONGC as a drilling engineer. Known as the first sub-sea engineer of ONGC.
 Developed “well control manual for both Offshore and Onshore operations”.
 His experience in handling the well control problems in the various fields has
made ONGC self reliant in dealing with well control situations.
7. A.K.Srinivasan-Finance Director
 An IIM Bangalore alumnus,Mr Srinivasan is an accomplished finance
professional with more than 31 years of experience in upstream oil and gas
finance.
 Experienced in capital markets,project financing and contracts,coperate
budgeting and planning,accounting,taxation and dispute resolution.
 Played major roles in the acquisition of various oil and gas development
projects and capital assets for ONGC.
 Number of shares held in the company is around 3,172.

8. Mr.Amar Nath-Joint Secretary(Exploration)
 Is a Govt. Nominee Director of ONGC. Mr. Nath is a Bachelor Of
Science(Mechanical Engineer) from NIT ,M.A. from Duke University,USA and
IAS Officer.
 Has served in a number of Govt. organizations before being appointed as a
joint secretary to ONGC.
9. Mr. Ajay Sawhney – Additional Secretary
 Mechanical Engineer, IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre.
 Held important positions in the Govt. of India as Joint Secretary Trainee in the
Department of Personnel and Training and as the President and CEO of the
National e-Governance Division, which assists the Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology in the implementation of the National e-Governance
Plan.
 Currently also holding charge of the position of CMD, Oil India.
10. Mr. Narendra .K .Verma-Permanent Invitee
 Mr. Verma obtained his M.Sc. (Special) in Applied Geology from Lucknow University
and acquired an M.Tech degree in Petroleum Exploration from Indian School of
Mines, Dhanbad . Mr. Verma also holds a Masters in Business Administration in
Finance.
 Prior to joining the Board of Directors of ONGC, he was the Director (Exploration) for
ONGC Videsh Limited with the responsibility of development and implementation of
Exploration strategy and Business Development for the growth of the Company.
 As an exploration geologist he has conceptualized a number of exploration projects
in wide variety of basins including deep waters and implemented the studies,
resulting in reserve accretion and evaluation of hydrocarbon potential.
SHAREHOLDING PATTERN
As on 31 March 2013, Government of India held around 69% equity shares inONGC.
Over 480,000 individual shareholders hold approx. 1.65% of its shares. Life
Insurance Corporation of India is the largest non-promoter shareholder in the
company with 7.75% shareholding. The President of India also helds a
percentage as high as 68.94% of shares from the Promoter Group.
