This project aims to improve cervical cancer screening and prevention in the Lower Rio Grande Valley through public outreach, patient navigation, and telementoring. Two interventions will be implemented: 1) Cultivando La Salud, an educational outreach program performed by community health workers to educate women about screening, and 2) Project ECHO telementoring to train local providers to manage abnormal screening tests. The goal is to increase screening rates and the number of providers able to perform diagnostic procedures locally. This innovative combination of interventions integrating public education and provider training could demonstrate reduced cervical cancer rates if successfully implemented and disseminated in underserved communities.
