Goal:
By the end of the school year, you, the student, would have
completed the Standards-Base (Multimedia Presentation) Technology
Project.



               Purpose:
               The purpose of this project is to allow you to master the listed
               standards, while you become proficient in creating a power
               point presentation.




The following guiding question will drive your learning:

If you were to invent a new product, or discover a different way in
building a product, how would the instructions/directions be presented or
created?
CALIFORNIA STATE STANDARDS

2.0   READING COMPREHENSION (FOCUS ON INFORMATIONAL
MATERIALS)

2.2      Structural Features of Informational Materials: analyze text that is
organized in sequential or chronological order
2.4       Comprehension and Analysis of Grade-Level-Appropriate Text: draw
inferences, conclusions, or generalizations about text and support them with textual
evidence and prior knowledge


1.0       WRITTEN AND ORAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE CONVENTIONS


1.1       Sentence Structure: identify and correctly use prepositional phrases,
appositives, and independent and dependent clauses; use transitions and
conjunctions to connect ideas

1.5       Spelling: spell roots, suffixes, prefixes, contractions, and syllable
constructions correctly
The following steps will be followed in order to create
your end of the year presentation:


 1. You will be tutored by a 6th. Grader on how
    to create a Power Point presentation.

 1. You will get a chance to practice during
    school time.


 1. I will model a slide for you, by using a 4th. Grade
    reading material.
4. Your slides for the Power Point presentation must
   meet the criteria stated in the rubrics.

5. You may use pictures, sounds, color, web sites
   to make your point.

6. Copyrights must be respected.
Your assignment for the year is to create a power point
presentation connecting the given California State Standards
and the following readings:
       Unit 1 - “Class Presidents”
       Unit 2 - “Galileo”
       Unit 3 - “The Invention of the Car”
       Unit 4 - “The invention of Television”
       Unit 5 - “The invention of the Thermometer”
       Unit 6 - “The Invention of a Vaccine”
                      -Marie Curie
