Improvement of the Reliability in Novelty Detection using PCA in No Periodic ...
This document proposes using a multivariate Gaussian model to improve the reliability of novelty detection when using PCA. When applying PCA to detect novelty in industrial process data with smooth novelty, the threshold for detection was unclear due to variability between curves. A multivariate Gaussian model treats each data point as a random variable and accounts for correlations. It creates a model from normal curves and detects novelty by calculating the Mahalanobis distance of new curves to the model centroid. Experiments show this method can reliably detect smooth novelty that PCA could not.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
