2. Photo 1
I chose this as a potential cover
photo, as I like the way and angle in
which I took it. Coming from below
the student, gives more of an insight
into the students work, and facial
expression. It is quite a good mid
shot, but I feel that the flash that’s
present in the bottom left hand
corner slightly takes away from the
picture, however this is something
that can be rectified within
Photoshop, or even from putting a
sky line at the bottom of the page as
opposed to the top, to cover the
flash glare on the book.
3. Photo 2
This photo again, has
potential for a cover shot, as
it is a good midshot, of my
model in the process of
writing something on the
board, showing it is an
interactive setting.
I like this photo, as it is an
action shot, however I’m not
sure if it is suitable for a 6th
form magazine cover, as I am
not sure if a cover photo of a
student doing work is what
fellow students will want to
see, at least not in that
depth. It is definitely a
possibility though.
4. Photo 3
This photo is fairly similar to photo
2, but from a different angle, and
better lighting overall, as there isn’t
much glare from the flash on the
board.
5. Photo 4
This is another potential cover shot,
although it is unlikely I will use this
picture, as it seems staged, and quite et
up. I still think it is quite a good picture
though, but the boxes in the
background take from the picture
overall.
6. Conclusion
• After close inspection and analysis of my
photos, and in particularly the 4 I chose for
this presentation, I have chosen Photo 1 as my
cover photo. I think it is a good midshot, and
the map in the background adds to the
academic feel. There is some glare from the
flash on the book, but this can be rid in
photoshop, and with clever place of
conventions on the magazine.
