Here are the key points about high rise buildings from the introduction:
- Tall buildings symbolize power, wealth, and human achievement in overcoming natural limitations through technology.
- Modern innovations like steel frame construction, elevators, and electricity made tall buildings practical structures.
- Advances in materials, construction technology, and building services have enabled the construction of increasingly slender and tall buildings.
- A key challenge is designing tall buildings to withstand environmental forces like wind, which can cause horizontal vibration and excessive motion affecting occupant comfort.
- Ensuring structural safety as well as comfort and serviceability for occupants are important design requirements for tall buildings.
The GMS Grande Palladium building in Mumbai took two-and-a-half years to construct and opened in March 2010. It was designed by Indian studio Malik Architecture. The six-floor office building sits above an eight-meter tall podium, creating an open terrace and thoroughfare at street level. Penthouse office suites for the client and his son occupy the top two floors within narrow cantilevers projecting above the main office block. Materials include a tessellated glass and ridged aluminum facade designed to appear monolithic with minimum joints. The building structure is composed entirely of steel with a central column grid providing flexible workspace while structural shear skins transmit loads to the ground.
This portfolio includes some of the landscape architecture undergraduate student projects I have done in China and the U.S in the past few years. Because of the shortage of time, some parts might not be informative enough to you. An improved version would be uploaded shortly afterward.

Landscape concept (phase 1)
The landscape concept is based upon the movement of water in its impact
form as it clashes on land. As water approaches the wave breakers, a slow
and steady pattern transforms into bold shapes that transpire into the
design and meander through the diverse spaces. As the main green space, the
linear park is initially hit by the wave breakers and is transformed into design
reactions. The design continues to mimic the sea through pattern
inspirations of its diverse forms and elements. Each space reflects the
movement, in accordance to the concept and its context, into four main
translations: bespoke elements, space generation, connections and diverse
softscape.

associated with a polygonal shaped pool. The organized simple palette
of plants help define the outdoor rooms gradually dissolving into

Residential design villa - Riyadh
The Landsape matches the balanced modern architecture
design of the villa. The Landscape of the villa follows
a balanced concept that matches the lifestyle of Saudi
Arabia where the areas designed for men should be
balanced by the areas for Women, offering privacy for
both and blended in a harmonious way.

16. Wadi Abdoun is located west Wadi
Amman, which is a land assembly located
to the southwest of the historic Hedjaz
Railway Station and to the northeast
incorporating the Roman Amphitheatre.
The strip, serves as the eastern
gateway to historic downtown Amman
for visitors traveling from Zarqa and
points beyond. The character of Wadi
Amman is defined by its location along
the seil that distinguishes the Wadis

Vision
It is an issue raised project which has within its folds social,
cultural and economic aspects. The project is designed to
become a part of the society’s daily living.
Aim
Transform the structural Landmark of Abdoun Bridge to
a city green landmark that is used by the community for

26. Campus Design - AUB’s Ada Dodge Outlook -
The landscape design guidelines have
been organized into two major catego-
ries:
• General design guidelines applicable
to the entire campus landscape.
• Emergency vehicles will have access
to the campus through the vehicular
gates. From those points on the prima-
ry promenade system, emergency vehi-
cles will have access to all facilities
on campus. The pedestrian promenade
system is designed to accommodate all
emergency vehicles.

Flow on site
In the design , the architecture of the house
is interplayed with it’s surrounding land-
scape. The areas of the garden are divided

29. Residential Design - Visitors’ Executive Villa
and Deans villa Individual design phase
Individual phase- new design, concept and construction details- This phase included
design and construction drawings such as Benches , Pergola ,Water feature , Curbs and
DESIGN APPROACH AND OBJECTIVES
The forces and views around the site plays a role on the design. Interplay
the architecture of the house into its surrounding landscape. As the villa itself
is a semi-duplex, one part of it being for executive visitors and the other for
the dean herself, the landscape design around the villa should portray this in
some way. This is where all elements of the design are equally divided.
Therefore merging the softscape and the hardscape in a balanced way is
used to serve the concept.Regional + site conditions affects the manner in
which the visual balance can be effectively achieved on a project site. The
manner in which balance is achieved in the building should relate to the site
balance, in order to unify the building and the site.

The metropolitan
connection around
Beirut river
Constructed wetland treats water pollution it integrates
wastewater treatment, native revegetation and the creation
of recreational and ecological links between the edges of the
river. Additionally, creating a union pedestrian bridge towards
the mouth of the river to maximize the communication
between the riverbanks.
Reed bed species have the ability to transfer oxygen from its
leaves, down through its stem and out via its root system in the
gravel bed. This encourages micro-organisms that digest the
pollutants in sewage to colonise the area.
