I had to create a duotone poster starting from
a quote by Adrian Frutiger: “The absence is as
important as the presence” using only
typographic elements and blocks of colour.
I designed the project around the concept
of polarity (polarità): absence and presence
are two complementary and necessary parts
of a project.

The poster is fold to form
a booklet: title of the project
on the front, quote and
biography of Adrien Frutiger
inside and explanation of
the title on the back.
When the booklet is opened the
poster has two sides: one with a
cyan backgroound, which
is the one you see when it is fold
into a booklet, and one with a
white background and just
Frutiger’s quote on it.
In the centre of both sides
there’s a square: white on the
cyan side and cyan on the white
side. This squares symbolize the
two poles
of absence and presence.

Tarots, 2014
Tarot cards based on the oniric world.
The idea of these tarots comes from the fact
that tarots have been and are an esoteric tool
used to understand the meaning of dreams.
The images are a digital collage, made by
putting together old black and white pictures
with flowers and other elements that have very
saturated colours, creating a strange contrast
which may evoke the oniric imagery.

Visual Book:
Gasoline by Gregory Corso, 2015
Gasoline is a volume of poetry by Gregory
Corso, one of the writers of the Beat
Generation: the aim of the project was to make
this publication into a “visual book”.
Since the poems in Gasoline are about the
most diverse subjects and there isn’t
a common theme in all of them, I tried to
understand how Corso found the inspiration
to write the book: what I discovered is that he
starts from what he sees, from reality,
and through this immages he investigates his
inner self.

Photographs symbolize reality and the cuts
on the page symbolize Corso’s intervention
through poetry.
The poems are not placed into a grid but are
put on the page as if they were clippings,
to make a connection with the cut-up,
a technique frequently used by the beats.

project. In the final version I’ve
changed the size of the book,
the cover design and the paper
(using Fedrigoni Tintoretto
instead of white coated paper).
