The Pondera Project aims to foster physical, social, environmental, and economic security for occupants through both short-term measures and long-term prevention efforts. Short-term measures to improve physical security included picking up trash, fixing broken windows and locks, while long-term prevention involved organizing neighborhood clean-ups, sealing the house, and creating a home phone directory. For environmental security, short-term actions involved testing for toxic soil and safely removing hazards, while long-term prevention comprised raising beds, vermicomposting, attic insulation, and updated heating. The project looks to connect with other owners and consider participatory budgeting and other ideas to continue its work.
