This document outlines an assessment task that requires students to write brief responses to questions about policy, power, and politics in health. The assessment aims to test students' knowledge and understanding of concepts covered in modules about the sociology of health, social determinants of health, and policy development. Students must choose six of eight topics and write 300-word responses for each that include references and do not use dot points. Topics cover issues like the policy cycle, differences between health and government policies, new versus old public health approaches, social determinants of health, power in policy development, obesity policy considerations, factors for a smoke-free campus policy, and interconnected systems in healthcare policy.
