1) Polar bears live in the Arctic and feed primarily on seals. They are large carnivorous mammals that can grow up to over 800 kg. 2) At zoos, polar bears are fed a diet of meats, fish, and vegetables. Male polar bears eat around 15 kg per day while females eat 10 kg. 3) Female polar bears give birth in dens dug into the snow during hibernation in spring. Newborn cubs weigh around 600g but gain weight nursing for over a year before venturing out with their mother.
