Polar bears are the largest land predators. They can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh 1,700 pounds. Males are larger than females. Polar bears have thick fur to insulate them from the cold and help them blend into the snow. They live in the Arctic regions of several northern countries and approximately 25,000-40,000 polar bears remain. Polar bears hunt seals and can consume up to 150 pounds of food at once. They communicate through sounds and body language.
