Peter Meiring had a long career in business, holding several positions at TFG Limited including Supervisory Board director, Operating Board Director, and Chairman of RCS (Pty) LTD. He was responsible for consumer financial services, web services, marketing, mobile devices, and customer services. In 1999, he started RCS which provided consumer credit services and later sold a stake in the business, negotiating its full sale in 2014 for $2.65 billion. Throughout his career, he launched several successful programs including Rewards & More and ONE 2ONE. He has extensive experience in retail, consumer credit, and management.

Abstract—The development of Microsoft Kinect opened up the research field of computational emotions to a wide range of applications, such as learning environments, which are excellent candidates to trial computational emotions based algorithms but were never feasible for given consumer technologies. Whilst Kinect is accessible and affordable technology it comes with its’ own additional challenges such as the limited number of extracted Action Units (AUs).
This paper presents a new approach that attempts at finding patterns of interaction between AUs and each other on one hand and patterns that link the related AUs to a given emotion. In doing so, this paper presents the ground work necessary to reach a model for dynamically generating personified set of rules relating AUs and emotions implicitly encoding a person individuality in expressing emotions.

I conceptualised and introduced a rewards program across all of TFG’s 18 brands. This rewards
program titled REWARDS & MORE is unique in that it capitaliseson the multi-brand environment in
TFG, encouragingcustomers,throughdiscountsandspecial offers,tocrossshopthe 18brandsinTFG.
It also specifically targets customers spend within their preferred brands by tailoring offers that
encourages customerstobuymore on theirpreferredproductsandto up-spendintorelatedproduct
categories thatfittheirbuyingprofile.Thisprogram ishugelysuccessful andstronglycontributedtoa
19.6% cash sales lift in the TFG’s FYE March 2015.
ONE 2ONE
Withmy responsibility forthe TFGGroup’scellularphonesandaccessories operation,Iexpandedthe
offeringtoinclude aprivate label airtime contract,brandedONE2ONE.Thisproductwassoldthrough
storesandtelemarketingto creditcustomers of the group.The programofferedcustomersairtimeat
much cheaper rates than for prepaid airtime whilst allowing them to have the billing benefits of a
post-paid contract. This program grew to over 200, 000 customers

Since completingmyhighschoolwithamatriculationseniorcertificate pass,Ihave completedvarious
businesscoursesinbusiness management(CIS)followedby computersystemsdesignandanalysis.In
the 1980’s I specialised in large scale systems design on mainframe computers. In this role I
successfully implemented several large systems in the warehousing and financial systems domains.
During the 90’s having completed the installation of the Vision 21 credit lending system from First
Data in the USA., I started to specialise in Credit lendingand was elected a general manager for this
division in TFG.
PERSONAL
I considermyselfaretail specialisthavingdevelopedathoroughknowledgeof retail bestpractice and
in particular consumer credit practices in South Africa, the UK, USA and Canada. I have travelled
extensivelytothe UK/ Europe and the USA and have strongbusinessassociationswiththe consumer
lending industry in these regions.
I have been extensively involved in the evaluation of both local and international business
opportunities for the TFG group.
I have extensive general management and Board experience.
