The Raymond family moves to a remote area of Canada, where their blind 7-year-old son Luke reveals he has an imaginary friend named Pyro who tells him what to do. At first Pyro's instructions seem harmless, but Luke's behavior and descriptions of Pyro become increasingly disturbing and violent. One day Luke drags a blood-soaked, unconscious man into the house, leading his parents to realize Pyro is not imaginary and that something dangerous is influencing their son.

Nick Flynn's memoir describes his relationship with his alcoholic father Jonathan over the course of 20 years. Jonathan was an alcoholic conman who was in and out of Nick's life, living in homeless shelters. Nick was raised primarily by his mother, who also struggled with addiction and mental health issues, before she took her own life. As an adult, Nick works at a homeless shelter in Boston and encounters his father there after many years apart. I have made a power point from Microsoft about what my top ten films are, who films in it and a rough draft of the plot. I understand that the plot is a large chunk of information however as I am so indulged in all these films that I cannot possibly shrink the information down. I have added this power point onto Slideshare to add it to my blog. I have also used animations in the slides to make it a bit more exciting as there is a lot of information and to try and break it down slightly.

Deciding on a tagline and whether to include blank space will be future decisions.

Jack Laird conducted research on existing sport and genre magazines by annotating their front covers and analyzing prices, target audiences, colors used, and what attracts readers. This provided slight inspiration for Jack's own magazine cover design. Jack then researched magazines in his chosen genre, annotated several covers, and realized most shared features like logos, mastheads, and taglines that he will need to include. Deciding on a tagline and whether to include blank space will be future decisions.
Magazine and newspaper glossary annotations

Jack Laird created a production log file to track his weekly work. On September 23rd, he analyzed two sports magazines by considering their price, target audience, colors used, and what attracts customers. Analyzing the magazines provided slight inspiration for what his own magazine may look like.
Film ideas mood board
I have created a mood board to help develop ideas for a new film. The mood board contains images that set the tone such as a rainy city street, a lonely figure in a crowd, and a broken clock. It also includes colors like grey and blue to convey a sense of melancholy and ideas such as isolation, passage of time, and urban loneliness that I want to explore in the film's story and characters.
Teaser vs poster analysis
The document compares teaser posters and theatrical posters for films. Teaser posters typically only include a release year while theatrical posters specify the release date. Both posters for one film often use the same font for branding recognition. Additionally, both posters may portray a dark theme to represent the film's atmosphere and suggest a consistent plot. However, the posters sometimes feature different characters to hint at a variety storyline that could attract more viewers.
3x disability posters
The document analyzes several aspects of film posters that relate to portrayals of disability:
1) One poster uses a white background to suggest the protagonist sees the world differently due to their disability. Another poster shows the character alone to convey a sense of isolation.
2) In one poster, where the character is looking could indicate they are thinking back on how others have treated them due to their disability.
3) One poster uses a bench as a barrier separating the character from society, representing how their disability sets them apart.
4) Color is used in one poster to represent a character's life before and after being diagnosed with a disability, with color representing a good life and gray a dull life.
Film poster analysis
The document analyzes and summarizes the key visual elements and their intended meanings in several movie posters. It discusses how colors, images, text, and other design features are used to convey themes of danger, evil, mystery and suggest plot details in order to intrigue audiences and promote the films. Elements like monsters, weapons, and scary icons aim to gain attention through shock factor, while credit blocks and release dates provide standard marketing information. Contrast, lighting, and symbolic representations aim to subtly provide clues about the films' genres and stories.

Plot line
- 1. Plot line • The Raymond family, Rosa and Zac, have just moved into the most peaceful, isolated part of the Canadian woodland. They are a young couple who have two kids; 17 year old Bella and 7 year old Luke. Luke has been diagnosed with complete blindness since he was 2 years old but has still remained a steady, normal child. However, two weeks into living there Luke reveals his imaginary friend, Pyro, who tells him what to do. At first, his imaginary friend ‘tells’ him to stuff a normal 7 year old would do, such as annoying his big sister or messing up his room. But it soon progresses. Luke begins to talk about a person who his parents have never heard of. And his opinions on this man get increasingly aggressive. He tells his mother about how the man shouts at him in his sleep, and he needs to stop him from doing bad thangs. Then one day, Luke struggles to drag a blood-drenched man through the door who was barely conscious and Rosa and Zac come to realisation of what Luke’s ‘imaginary friend’ truly is.
