This document provides the objectives, materials, directions, and evaluation for a lesson teaching students about seeds and planting. The lesson has students: 1) identify what seeds do; 2) list reasons for planting seeds; 3) plant their own seeds; and 4) graph and write about their seeds' growth over several days. Students will read books about seeds, discuss seeds, dramatize a story, plant seeds in groups, observe their seeds, and write stories about planting that will be bound into books. The teacher will evaluate if enough time was allotted, if planting went smoothly, if students understood plants, and how well technology was used.
