- 5. What are the planes?? • Body planes are hypothetical geometric planes used to divide the body into sections. They are commonly used in both human and zoological anatomy to describe the location or direction of bodily structures.
- 7. Types of plane • Median plane • Coronal plane • Transverse plane
- 8. Median plane
- 9. • Vertical plane that divide right and left side of the body lengthwise along the midline into externally symmetrical sections • Mid sagittal plane • Plane parallel to median plane is known as sagittal plane, parasagittal plane, or paramedian planes
- 11. Coronal plane • Any vertical side-to-side plane at right angle to the median plane • Also known as frontal plane
- 13. Transverse plane • Body is divided horizontally into upper and lower sections • Also known as horizontal plane
