The students need to be fluent in speaking to express their ideas and what they think in their minds also to communicate with others. As a matter of fact, speaking using Bahasa is not a big deal for students since it is their mother tongue, but as they have to speak in English, it becomes a big problem. They can’t imagine what they want to speak, they are afraid and unconfident if they try to speak English. Therefore the teacher should provide the students' motivation to speak up and use the appropriate method in teaching speaking. Photovoice is a suitable method using a camera for supporting the process of teaching-learning. The purpose of the study is to identify the effect of using Photovoice on speaking skills at the secondary school level. We used a speaking test to complete and process the data. The participants of the study were the students at the secondary level. The outcome of the study revealed that the students who taught using Photovoice had better skills in speaking English than the students who were not taught using Photovoice. Through this method, the students become interested and active during the study. They seemed to enjoy and excited about an exhibition or presentation.

1. LESSON PLAN EXPLANATION
1. WARM UP. Explain to the students what is a plenary.
This relates with the Total Physical Response and with the Translation Method. This
is to make the students understand what we are talking about, because they have to
hear the explanation first in L1 and after in L2 to clarify that the students understood.
About the Total Physical Response is used when we are speaking in L2 because
movements of the body can help them relate words to movements.
2. PRESENTATION. Review of the vocabulary that will be used in the plenary,
Conversations, Modal verbs, introducing people and descriptions.
This relates with the Behaviorism Theory learning through repetition and imitation
and it will help with the objective that we have for this activity that is that the students
learn how to communicate in L2.
The flash cards are a useful didactic material to teach vocabulary that is necessary
for this activity.
We are using the Communicative approach because as it says communication
between students is the more important task. It also says that the language is often
created by making mistakes and errors, fail to learn.
3. VERIFICATION. Teacher gave the students an exercise that involves to make a
plenary about an actor, actress, artist or a singer. They will choose one of them to
share them in front of the classroom what they think about it. They will make a
written dialogue and they will share it in teams of three.
Students will choose the celebrity and give their opinions about it and their common
information. The celebrity they choose will reflect their personalities and taste of
each students, this refers to the Margaret Mead Theory based on a research of how
television and social aspects influence an adolescent personality.
4. APPLICATION. They will pass to the front of the class and share their plenary to
the whole group as if it was a radio show.
2. We are going to develop their Linguistic skills trying to communicate in L2 with the
others. For this we still use the Communicative Approach to develop their fluency
skills when spoken in L2.
They can start developing their confidence while speaking in front of the class.
