Pixar was founded in 1979 as the Graphics Group and was renamed Pixar in 1986. It is headquartered in Emeryville, California and was founded by Steve Jobs, Ed Catmull, and Alvy Ray Smith. Pixar's first feature film was Toy Story, released in 1995, which became the highest grossing film of that year and had a profound impact on animation and filmmaking. The Incredibles, released in 2004, was Pixar's first film to feature a human cast and won two Oscars.
