I will be photographing a skateboarder and/or BMX rider performing tricks at two locations - Jesus Green Skatepark in Cambridge and the Long Stay car park in Ely. At the skatepark, the rider will have a variety of obstacles to perform tricks on and the park has good drainage in case of rain. The car park will provide lighting from lampposts and car headlights for photos after dark. Each location poses some risks like falling and getting hit by cars. To reduce risks, I will wear high-visibility clothing, choose less busy times, get permission if others are photographed, ensure dry surfaces, and stay away from traffic.

What Am I Photographing?
I will be going to take photos of someone skateboarding and/or BMX. I will get photos of
the Person performing a variety of tricks, using different camera angles, Camera settings,
lighting techniques and using different background’s.
Where Am I Going?
I am going to two main locations, Jesus Green Skatepark in Cambridge, and The Long
Stay car park in Ely. I have chose these two locations because they are most convenient
for the needs of the photo’s. I have chose Jesus Green Skatepark because it is a relatively
local skatepark with a wide range of different ability obstacles, making a interesting variety
of tricks that the skateboarder/BMX can perform. This should give me a interesting set of
photo’s with a variety or different Camera Angles, tricks, views of the trick and background
scenery. Jesus Green Skatepark, unlike other skateparks has very good drainage,
because of the time of year it is very likely to rain. The skateboarders cant skateboard
when its raining or when the skatepark is it, It becomes very slippy giving them no grip and
becomes a serious health and safety issue. I am going to drive to Jesus green skatepark,
it will take an hour, I will be at the skatepark at 11AM. I chose The Long Stay Car Park
because I am going to do this shoot at 8:30PM, it gets dark at 6PM so i will need light, the
car park has some lampposts which give a little light, i can also use my car headlights as a
light to help light the photo, I will place a flash gun at a different angle, hopefully this will
give me an interesting lighting effect. The car park will be mainly empty this time of day so
it will be safer. I will also drive to the car park, It takes 15 minutes to get to, i will be there at
8:30PM.

Are There Any Risks Or Dangers?
Each location has different Risks and/or Dangers. The main risk at the Long Stay Car Park
would be getting hit by car, or if the person skateboarding/BMX falls of and hits a car. The
main risks at Jesus Green Skatepark would be If they were to fall of they might collide with
someone els causing injury to there selfs and somebody els, other people getting in the
photo. At both locations there are some risks and/or dangers, for example. If the
Skateboarder/BMX rider was to fall of, there is a high risk they will hurt them selfs. If the
ground is wet it becomes very wet and slippy for the skateboard/BMX rider giving them a
high change of falling off. Both locations are public places, so its likely that other people
will be there, so i need to make sure no-one is in the photos without there consent, and i
need to make sure the people are age 18 or older. There are roads near both locations so i

2. need to make sure we stay away from the roads and make sure we can be seen clearly by
the road users to prevent the risk of getting hit by a car.
How Can I Stay Safe?
Although the various Risks and Dangers I can take some action to try and reduce the risks
and dangers. At the Long Stay Car Park i will wear a high visibility jacket, this will help
because it will be dark and will make me a lot more visible to people around the area, I will
make sure we use the part of the car park that is the most empty. At Jesus Green Skate
Park I will try to use the skatepark at a time when its not busy, this way i wont get other
people in the background of the picture, if i do get people in the background, i will ask
them for there permission for them to be in the photo and if they fall of, there is less
change of them hitting someone els as they fall. At both locations I will make sure the
ground it dry so it isn't slippy for the BMX and skateboarders, I will also make sure we stay
away from traffic and i will inform my parents what I am doing and when.
