Our urban thriller conformed to conventions like including a hero, villain, and mystery to solve through realistic investigation. The carefully selected urban setting also created realism. However, we had limited resources so used a cheap car instead of flashy Hollywood vehicles.
We were influenced by real thrillers like Tower Block in our location choice, and Attack the Block for costumes depicting urban gang culture. However, our limited props and masks were used to still evoke fear rather than replicate real thrillers.
Overall we tried to conform to thriller conventions through settings, characters and themes, but were limited so challenged conventions through use of low budget available locations,

TARGET AUDIENCE Our target audience would be 15-40 as most students and adults usually enjoy watching action/crime films and also the protagonist of our film will be aged between 20-25 which would make the audience have something in common with the film and lead them to watch it. Our film will be released in August as it is the time where students and adults have the most free time and are able to watch the film. In addition to this the working class would also have free time during the summer to watch films. A general election will be taking place around the time of our release date which also links to our film. Our age certificate is 15 as their will be violence and scene that may disturb viewers under 15.
