The document summarizes research conducted on the PickEve student events app. The research included surveys of 392 Stony Brook University students to analyze how aware students were of campus events and the potential usefulness of the PickEve app. Key findings included that while correlations between club involvement and event awareness/app usefulness were weak, all student year groups felt they missed events and would find the app useful. The research provides factual data the app creator can use to convince the university board to approve promoting PickEve campus-wide.

The workshop will overview intermediate and advanced concepts of evaluating the impact of philanthropic foundations as well as the organizational systems that support impact evaluation and learning within foundations. Main topics include: prioritizing evaluation audiences and purposes, selecting among a range of evaluation designs (randomized controlled trials, quasi-experimental designs, correlational studies, descriptive studies); organizational readiness for evaluation and learning; and organizational learning. A range of practical tools for developing evaluation projects and for building organizational practices in evaluation and learning will also be shared. Current debates, criticisms, and possible ways forward will be presented using select cases and illustrations. Participants will be encouraged to bring their own examples, offer honest appraisals, and identify ways to advance their own philanthropic work. (This workshop is at an intermediate level; basic concepts of evaluation will be reviewed briefly in the context of more advanced topics.)

UOW Faculty Of Arts Student Engagement & Communication Review (Spring 2...Dane Cutler
Seven Marketeers was established to execute part of the course deliverables of an undergraduate class in Digital Communications at the University of Wollongong in Spring 2010.
Seven Marketeers’ mission was to engage in detailed research to provide relevant, insightful and useful recommendations to two real world clients. The goal was to undertake an analysis of current and future online behavioural trends and provide actionable insights into how these trends can best be utilised to inform improved online user interface design and communications, with user satisfaction as the key objective. Seven Marketeers aimed to deliver a set of fully grounded and researched recommendations to its clients, so as to enable them to effectively meet the needs of a user-base that is continually modifying its expectations of information consumption as technology evolves.

Academic Program
An effective recommendation for an academic program should have the following characteristics:
· Should consider the age of the learners
· Should consider the education requirements of the learners
· Should be geared towards improving the quality of education
· Should be realistic and have a time frame within which to achieve.
· Should go hand in hand with the way the world is moving
An example of such a recommendation is introducing a policy to ensure all students do a science subject to enhance innovation since the world is technology-based. This recommendation is effective since it goes hand in hand with the way the world is moving and is considering the education requirements of the learners. I will use the module resources to make my recommendation effective when implemented, will involve all people when making decisions regarding the improvement of the academic program.
The review of the undergraduate project is effective, and it is well organized. The review focuses on specific objectives that need to be met, and the writer is keen to note the objectives down and to make sure that the review achieves these objectives. It is also essential that the review was done after the report was conducted, and there was the involvement of all the members of the faculty. This is important as it helps the institution to develop a greater insight and to capture as much as possible opinions that will be used in the improvement of the program. This is great.
The document on the California state university is essential. This is because it brings out the report on the review in an authentic manner, and this is important for effective program improvement in the university. The review is essential as it helps to understand what can be done and what is necessary. The involvement of many of the people in the university is good as it helps even to bring out even a better review and improvement program.

Julia Discussion:
Hi everyone.
I chose to evaluate the English Program at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville for this discussion. Some of the characteristics of an effective program review will include whether or not student learning is assessed, how it is being assessed, any challenges to assessment from faculty or students, what is working well with the process, what did not work well, and recommendations for improvement. The assessment from this particular University was interesting because it seemed to be infused with a lot of personality from the assessors.
The assessment was conducted during 2009 and it also happened to be taking place while the department was introducing a new curriculum. The faculty were introducing this curriculum ...
How students search for and decide for a university has grown more complex: the search process and the consulted channels have multiplied.
UNIspotter conducted a study among 86 students (business; interested in pursuing a Master) to observe how they search, where they search and what they search for when deciding for a study program.
We discovered that the search process follows a pattern (4 stages):
- Browse universities (50+ programs)
- Narrow down the option (15-25 programs)
- Detailed Research: Compare (10 programs)
- (Pre-)Decision: Apply (on average 5 programs)
However, not all the touch points are considered equally relevant for the final decision.
The university of the future needs to attract top-talent in a rapidly changing market and needs to manage the information that impacts the future students' decision.
But: most of the time you are not even aware that potential students make decisions about you. Google calls this "The Zero Moment of Truth" - customers researching about you on the internet before they decide to buy a service.
How do students consider university rankings, accreditations, search engines, online portals and the direct contact with universities?
We want to provide you an insight into what we found out.
And input on how you can identify the customer journey your students have had as well as a check-list on how to find room for improvement.
We would be very happy to have your feedback about it!
This presentation was designed for a project 3.3 in my English 333 class (technical writing). The project was given to the class with the goal of addressing an issue in the community. The issue I addressed was the lack of a proper mentor-ship program at University of Southern Mississippi.

Student success is a key concern in the higher ed community. Join this session to learn how Western Governors University (WGU) and Cornell University are tackling student success issues by placing the emphasis on the student experience rather than on back office solutions. WGU will share how they are using predictive analytics to proactively ensure student success not only at the course level, but also in staying on track for graduation. They will also show how they’ve created a Student Community to increase collaboration and foster a culture among distance learners. Cornell will then share its student-first approach to building an engagement platform. It’s social on the front end and ‘big data’ on the back end with the goal of creating a simple and intuitive online experience.
4. About the Founder: Rishabh Prasad
A Mechanical Engineering graduate student at Stony Brook University
After arriving at the university from India in 2015, he realized that he missed
opportunities to attend numerous events, simply because the information was
not easily accessible
E.g., club coordinators don’t utilize all notice boards on campus; event flyers lost in
the clutter of others on the notice boards
After interacting with other peers and realizing they faced the same problem, he
launched PickEve
5. About the Product: PickEve
A user-friendly smartphone application
Available for both iPhones and Androids
Enables students everywhere to connect with their favorite events, clubs, and
activities on campus
Unique features include:
A list of scheduled events on campus
The ability to “like” your favorite clubs
9. The Problem
So far, PickEve has failed to leap from its product launch to mass marketing
We needed to present the app to Stony Brook University's executive board
This would help us gain the approval necessary to implement official use of the app
on campus
We would also be able to promote and provide information pertaining to SBU clubs,
organizations, activities, and events to the university's student body
How do we achieve this need?
10. Our Solution
Our marketing pitch would:
Provide an informative and factual presentation
Serve useful to our client, Rishabh Prasad, when presenting to the executive board
It included quantitative research data
Acquired by our team through online surveys and manual questionnaires
The data would then convince the executive board that PickEve will serve as a
valuable, useful, and beneficial technological medium for Stony Brook
12. Subjects
Who were the subjects of our study?
Stony Brook University students were the subjects of this research
In order to present a case to the administrative board on campus, it was
imperative that they were aware of the need of the application
amongst their student body.
13. Sampling
How was data collected?
In order to effectively determine the market demand, market research
surveys were conducted
There was an estimated sample size of nearly 400 students
The questionnaires were distributed to subjects online and face-to-face
14.
15.
16. Questionnaire Feedback
Students’ suggestions include:
“Integrate Google and Apple Maps into the application so events are easy to
locate and accessible”
“Have a calendar of all events you’re interested in or plan on going to. In this
calendar you can easily see where you’re going this week and turn on notifications
for some/all events.”
“Link it to Facebook events too!”
17. Questionnaire Feedback (cont’d)
Communication with the company’s target market was a critical
component to the marketing research
By revealing the demands of the students, PickEve also gained valuable
information not previously gleaned; this knowledge proved to be
beneficial for future development of the application.
19. The survey measured subject awareness in regards to on-campus events and
activities.
Measured how useful students will find an application that would keep them
informed of such events.
Measures number of clubs/organizations students are involved in on campus.
The questionnaire also provided insight on relationships between a student’s
year group and his/her awareness of campus activities, and the number of
groups he/she is involved with and the usefulness of an application that would
inform them of upcoming student events.
Data Analysis-Survey Background
38. According to our collected data….
We hypothesized that…
There would be a strong correlation between the low number of students who are in clubs and
organizations and the usefulness/need for a student events application. To keep them updated.
We found that…
the correlation coefficients between the number of clubs students are in and how useful they believed
PickEve would be were positive overall but very weak correlations:
Correlations ranged from 0.124 to 0.254. + but not enough to provide significant support of
hypothesis.
Although there were weak correlations between these variables, our claim is still supported
because organizations would be able to include their events on PickEve and the student body
could peruse at their leisure.
Correlation coefficients between the number of clubs and how aware students are of events on campus ranged from:
Correlations ranged from -0.191 to 0.138.
39. ● Positive results that the client can use to present to the board at SBU include...
● Students of ALL year groups at SBU concurred that they missed out on certain campus activities due to a
lack of awareness:
○ undergraduates slightly agreed, but graduate students strongly agreed with this statement
● ->> Every year group thinks the application will be useful <<-
● Based on our data, the client can provide factual data to
strongly support the PickEve product to the board at SBU
○ In that the majority of students at SBU (of all year groups,
clubs or no clubs) would find that the application both
useful and would be interested in having a student events

Total: 91% of total students surveyed agree they would find an app that keeps students informed on club, organization, and campus events based on their individual likes and interests useful, and would be interested.
Based on our data, of ALL students surveyed we can conclude there is a direct relationship between those students who missed important events on campus due to a lack of awareness and they would find an application that keeps students informed on club, organization, and campus events based on their interests would serve as useful and would be interested in it.
Next, we are going to go over the data from the survey on the student year group in relationship to the number of clubs/organizations they are involved in on campus at SBU.
??We did this to see if there is a relationship between those who were less involved and their need for the application.??
55/76 are in groups or 72% of Freshman are participating in clubs and/or organizations.
68% of Sophomores are participating in clubs and/or organizations.
75% of Juniors are participating in clubs and/or organizations.
69% of Seniors are participating in clubs and/or organizations.
36% of Graduate students are participating in clubs and/or organizations
Since the correlation between number of clubs/year group and usefulness was weak little/no correlation, we can conclude that our presentation does not support a relationship for the client (Rishabh Prasad) to present to the board at Stony Brook University.
