This document describes the topography and geography of India. India has several distinct geographic regions including mountainous regions in the north, the Indian plains in the north, a plateau in central India, coastal lowlands, and the island region of Sri Lanka. The topography is varied with fold mountains, high relief peaks, an uneven landscape, and thick vegetation growth across the different regions.
