2. WHAT IS PV SYSTEM ?
• A photovoltaic system also Known as PV system or solar power
system, is a power system designed to supply usable solar
power by means of photovoltaics.
• It consists of an arrangement of several components,
including solar panels to absorb and convert sunlight into
electricity, a solar inverter to change the electric current from
DC to AC, as well as mounting, cabling, and other electrical
accessories to set up a working system.
4. HOW IT WORKS?
• A photovoltaic system converts the sun's radiation into
usable electricity. It comprises the solar array and the balance of
system components. PV systems can be categorized by various
aspects, such as, grid-connected vs. stand alone systems, building-
integrated vs. rack-mounted systems, residential vs. utility
systems, distributed vs. centralized systems, rooftop vs. ground-
mounted systems, tracking vs. fixed-tilt systems, and new
constructed vs. retrofitted systems. Other distinctions may include,
systems with microinverters vs. central inverter, systems
using crystalline silicon vs. thin-film technology
5. TYPES OF PV SOLAR
• Crystalline silicon (c-Si), used in traditional, conventional, wafer-based solar cells:
Monocrystalline silicon (mono-Si)
Multicrystalline silicon (multi-Si)
• Non classified as crystalline silicon, used in thin-film and other solar cell technologies:
Amorphous silicon (a-Si)
Nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si)
Procrystalline silicon (pc-Si)
Other non-silicon materials, such as CdTe, CIGS

7. •Step 4: Calculate number of panels:
Earlier we assumed a panel with an efficiency of 15%. This
is a good number for modern panels. A representative
panel capacity of 250W, an efficiency of 15%, and an active
surface area of 1.5 m2.

8. HOW MUCH DO SOLAR FARMS COST?
• For 1 watt it costs approximately 80tk, so for a 300w solar
panel costs 2400tk.
• For 1000000 w or 1Mw it will cost around 8 crore taka.
• The estimated maintenance cost will around 5 lacs taka
• Gross consumption of electricity per hour of IIUC is nearly 700
watt
• Which have an estimate cost of 2.2 million taka per year(10 tk
per unit).
• Nearly 1.5 million taka profit per year.
9. FUTURE MEGA PROJECTS IN THE WORLD
• Saudi Arabia has a plan to wean its economy off oil. In the
biggest sign of what the future of the Gulf state would look
like, Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed Bin Salman, has
signed a memorandum of understanding with Japanese
multinational Softbank to build 200 GW of solar power by 2030
at a cost of $200 billion.
