This dissertation examines using domain ontologies and other terminological resources to improve query expansion techniques for information retrieval systems. It presents two experiments using the Genomics TREC collection that evaluate expanding queries based on relations in the Gene Ontology and other biomedical vocabularies and thesauri. The results indicate that query expansion can improve recall and precision, but the type of semantic relation and weights attributed to original and expanded terms impact performance.

Research on the music genre for my music vedioOsama05
Rock music originated in the United States as rock and roll, centered around guitars, bass guitars, and drums. It incorporated influences from other genres like blues and folk. Rock music has served as a vehicle for social movements over time and has led to various subcultures. Punk rock developed in the 1970s as a stripped-down, fast, and hard-edged style with anti-establishment lyrics. In the 1980s, indie rock referred to less commercial rock bands that relied on independent labels and promotion through touring and college radio.
During the creation of a music magazine project, the student learned about several technologies. The student used a digital camera to take photos for the magazine and learned how to use features to get different effects. Photoshop was used to edit photos and create images for the project. The internet provided a way to research magazine forms and conventions as well as to create a blog documenting the work. PowerPoint and SlideShare helped make slides interesting and upload them to the blog. Overall, technologies like these were essential to completing the tasks of creating a magazine cover, contents page, and spread.
The student learned about various technologies through creating a music magazine project. They used a digital camera to take photos, Adobe Photoshop to edit photos, Blogger to document their work, and Microsoft PowerPoint for slides. The digital camera allowed them to preview photos before keeping them. Photoshop helped edit images for the project. Blogging their work and using the internet for research was also helpful during the project's creation. Overall, technologies like these were essential in completing the front cover, contents page, and double spread page of the magazine.
The front cover needs to make a good first impression on the target audience in order to attract them. Feature articles and catchy cover lines are also effective ways to attract the target audience. Consistency in color scheme and using relevant images from concerts helps make the contents page professional and easy to follow. Featuring the same artist on the double page spread that appears on the cover can maintain audience interest and attract them to read the article by using an eye-catching headline.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
