Summary Presentation Academic background and languages Experience in SIEMENS Career at BIC Extracurricular activities
I am living in Brazil since 2001, when I started my activities at BIC Amazonia, participating in an internship trainee program for engineers. I grew quickly in this business, getting to coordinate the production activities of the stationery department. Currently, I work at Siemens, as production supervisor. I have permanent resident visa because I am a French citizen, and I constitute family in Brazil. My interest is to stay in the region of Manaus, whatever I am open mind. My experience, educational background and professional profile are great strength to work with your company. I learn quickly, and I have great adaptability, both my personal and professional history demonstrate this. I put myself at your entire disposal for a personal interview and I can be contacted at the phones or email listed in this portfolio
Academic background and languages Industrial and entrepreneur engineer, with expertise in materials at the école des Mines d'Alès , completed in 2001. I attended two years (1999 and 2000) the robotic competition E = M6 , and the organization of a national sporting event. French (fluent) Portuguese (fluent) English (fluent) Spanish (intermediate)
Experience in SIEMENS Working at Siemens Eletroeletrônica, factory located in the Manaus industrial pole, as production supervisor since December 2010. My direct time has 6 people, the total crew which I'm in charge of is 200 workers. Within a month, I managed to assimilate the corporate culture and production operation of the circuit breakers, already giving excellent results in the production plan, based on a very challenging goal.
BIC Amazônia – from 2008 to 2009 Manufacturing Coordinator , level below the production manager, responsible for executing the production plan, human resources and machinery organization of the pen assembly factory following the company indicators (OEE, scrap, standard costs, budget accomplishment), and establishing the short and medium term planning. Development of new products using environmentally friendly raw materials in all aspects of production. Success with two products: Round Stic Eco Pen, which uses the plastic used in the Long Life Tetra Pak boxes. Ecolution Evolution pencil, which uses plastic scrap from the Danone factory, at Pocos de Caldas, MG. Development work with biodegradable and renewable sources plastics suppliers as Biocycle and Biomater.
BIC Amazônia – from 2005 to 2007 Stationery Manufacturing Coordinator, level below production manager, responsible for executing the production plan and human resources (headcount 200) and machinery organization for all sectors of the factory, following the company indicators ( OEE, scrap, standard costs, budget accomplishment), planning at short and medium term. Under my direction, the factory increased the Not In Time In Full indicator from less than 80% to 95%, and the total scrap decreased from 4% to 1.5%. "Hands On" profile : plastic injection improvements (parameters, tools modifications, devices and raw materials...) and assembly improvements to increase the quality and to reduce costs. One of my project allows a saving of $ 400k per year in material consumption, another gave freedom to the Supply Chain to negotiate with more suppliers instead of only one for the raw materials purchase that represent 90% by volume of the consumption. Layout improvements, production line facilities: reception, installation and start-up of a complete production line coming from the United States, reception and start-up of two injection lines, coming from France. Benchmark with other factories of the group (France, Mexico, Ecuador). Management systems implementation: TPM, OHSAS18001, maintenance and review of those already deployed: 5S, ISO9001, ISO14001
BIC Amazônia – from 2003 to 2005 Process engineer , responsible for the plastic extrusion area. Non-compliant reduction (30% monthly to 0%) and scrap (from 7% to 0.7%), self control quality implementation (quality inspectors check only once a week to audit, instead of inspections every 3h), maintenance reorganization, spare parts stock and methods. New raw materials approval. New extrusion line: definition based in a study of existing lines in France and Mexico, in partnership with the German supplier Bellaform, reception in Germany, installation (layout and facility adequacy) and start-up in Manaus, workers and mechanics training.
BIC – from 2001 to 2003 Engineer Trainee , transfer of a razors production line from France to Manaus, including on-site installation, start-up, operators and mechanics training, documentation. Dedicated to injection and extrusion plastic parts of the project.
Extracurricular Activities Taking care of my kids: lucky father of Philippe and Isabelle. French Professor at the Alliance Française since 2010, I give classes for all levels, from beginners to conversation classes. Teaching is a very enriching experience both from a personal point of view and knowledge, but it's also a way to enhance my professional skills for leadership and pedagogy. Here two examples of classroom blog that I use so that students can have additional materials, as well as being able to study in case of absence: AF Manaus - level B2-1 AF Manaus - level A2-1 Adding to reading, cinema and other hobbies, I have a personal blog http://yann-colombani.blogspot.com/ Other details and recommendations on my LinkedIn profile: http://br.linkedin.com/in/yannbresil
