1. Pests Possums, ferrets, stoats, weasels, hares, wasps, Argentine ants, Feral cats, Deers, hedgehogs, Feral goats, Horses, wallabies, Tahr, Rainbow lorikeet, rainbow skinks and rats are all types of Pests in New Zealand. NZ's wildlife is unique. We have no native mammals to prey on our birds. Many of our native species are already extinct.

2. Rats Rats can kill a kiwi. Rats are various medium-sized,long-tailed rodents of the super family muroidea. True rats are members of the genus rattus, the most important of which to humans are the black rat ,rattus and the brown rat rattus norvegicus. Many members of other rodent genera and families are also referred to us rats, and share many characteristics with true rats. Rats are typically distinguished from mice by their size. Rats are generally large muroid rodents,while mice are generally small muroid rodents.

3. Possum A possum is any of about 70 small to medium- sized arboreal marsupial species native to New Zealand. Possums have long tails. People eat possum pie and possum stew. There are over 70 million possums. People are setting traps to kill possums. Possums are nocturnal animals. Possums are killing kiwis.

5. Damage done by pests By conceding the type of damage done by pests,you can decide what sort of pest control for your family or whether the cost of pest control program is worth the price needed to solve the problem. The basic types of damage are damage are medical damage and aesthetic damage. Nuisance problems are also a consideration
