What is a voyage ?
A voyage is a long journey to sea or to space
Why do people do voyages
They need more food, they need a better place to live or they want to
see new things
James Cook
James Cook was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer
and captain in the Royal Navy. James Cook was born in the
year 1728 in Marton, England. His father allowed him to go
on a voyage when he was 18 years old. James Cook spent
all his time learning maths and navigation. Jame Cook
wanted to do something more adventurous that is why in
1755 he volunteered for the British Royal Navy and made 3
voyages in the Pacific Ocean and he was also the first
person to travel around New Zealand.
Why do sea creatures make
voyages
Because of their habitat, water temperature changes
due to the weather changes, and the availability of
their food.
Dolphins
Dolphins are very intelligent and they seem to be well loved by
humans. This aquatic mammal has been able to fascinate us in a
variety of ways. They are curious, form strong bonds within their
pod, and they have been known to help humans in a variety of
circumstances including rescues and with fishing.
There are 36 different species of dolphins that have been
recognized. 32 of them are marine dolphins which are those that
we are the most aware of and 4 of them are river dolphins.
Dolphins can swim up to 26 m below the surface of the ocean,
although they are mainly shallow divers.
