3. INTRODUCTION
Present day in agriculture the sprayers play an important role
in agriculture. Our farmers are using the same methods and
the equipments(EX:spraying, wedding etc).there is need of
development in these equipments.
In Hand operated sprayers are consumes more time and more
human efforts .
In motorized sprayers are operated by petrol fuel, hence its
running cost and initial cost is high. And also it produces the
vibration and sound ,it will be irritate to the farmers.
Hence to over come these difficulties we have to introduce
“INSECTICIDES AND PESTICIDES SPRAYING VEHICLE FOR
AGRICULTURAL CROPS’.
4. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the present work are as follows:
To achieve multiple jet sprayer with multi axes positioning
of jets.
To modification of fertilizer operating mechanism with
existing sprayer.
To cover more area in less time.
To reduce the human effort certain extent.
Decrease the labor cost by mechanizing the spraying
method.
Implement technologies that enable precise and targeted
spraying, minimizing the use of chemicals.
6. 1) Jet: A jet is a stream of fluid that is projected into a
surrounding medium, usually from some kind of a nozzle,
aperture or orifice. Jets can travel long distances without
dissipating. In the Earth's atmosphere there exist jet streams
that travel thousands of kilometers.
Types of jets:
1) Free jet
2) Impact jet
2) Sprayer : A sprayer is a device used to spray a liquid. In
agriculture, a sprayer is a piece of equipment that is
used to apply herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers on
agricultural crops.
TYPES OF SPRAYERS
KNAPSACK SPRAYERS
These sprayers are on the back of worker during operations. Tanks
may be plastic or metal. Common Knapsack sprayers are:
1. Hydraulic
2. Manual pneumatic and
3. Motorized pneumatic.
7. 3)NOZZLES: The nozzles we have selected are same as that are used in
agricultural sprayers which are already available. The nozzles are
made from brass and are non-corrosive. The nozzles are not
designed specially and they are standard flat pan nozzles.
4) PISTON AND CYLINDER ASSEMBLY: The piston and cylinder are
mainly forming actuating devices for spraying. Their performance
decides spraying efficiency. We have selected brass made cylinders
with plastic pistons just because they are easily available and
economical. Along with this, technically, they are easy in
operation.
5) TANK: We want our tank to carry as much fluid so it can be along
with its self weight as less as possible. We have taken a tank which
is almost 40 litre capacity. A material for tank used is plastic fiber.
Plastic fiber is very low in weight as compared to mild steel. It also
has very low cost. We have used such a large capacity tank
because we wanted to remove disadvantage of conventional
sprayers being low capacity ones.
6)WHEELS: The wheel selection was based on economy factor as well
as performance factor. The wheels we have selected are not
designed but chosen from market best suited to our purpose. They
are formed of mild steel and are then fitted with self prepared
bush through steel rods.
8. 7) Blade harrow with single furrow : It helps in cultivation
process such as seed sowing and also destroying the weed
seedlings.
8) Frame : the main function of frame is to carry whole
assembly on it so it has to be strong enough to hold it .
It is formed out of mild steel by using wilding operation
9. METHODOLOGY (SPRAYING PROCESS)
when sprayer trolley is pushed, work done by the wheels gets transmitted first
to chain sprocket and then to follower link, due to which piston reciprocates
and starts building pressure.
This is because the power applied is transmitted to driving shaft attached to
main wheels.
As the time passes, a strong pressure gets developed inside cylinder as
accumulator helps it in spraying.
As the pressure gets developed, nozzle starts acting and they initiate
spraying.
METHODOLOGY (SEED SOWING PROCESS)
First step is to manually fill the seed storage box with seeds and the fertilizer
in the container.
Seeding is accomplished by just pushing the device in pre established furrow.
Mechanism uses a manual push force for running.
The sowing operation is to put the seed in desired depth and seed to seed
spacing.
10. Applications.
Sprayers are not only used in agricultural applications, but
also in domestic purposes. Below are a few details of their
applications areas
Agriculture
pest control
Water spraying
Small nurseries
Kitchen gardens
Spraying wettable, insectides and fungicides
Orchads
Vegetable gardens etc.
In agricultural field seed sowing is very important aspect. So
it’s applications are
It is helpful for marginal farmers
The equipment covers the sowing area in less time
It is used for seed sowing with fixed distance with more accuracy
