- 17. ACTIVITIES IN ITÁLICA AND MÉRIDA We visited two Roman settlements: Italica (located in Seville) and Emerita Augusta (Which is called Mérida today)

- 25. ACTIVITIES IN EMERITA AUGUSTA • A great Roman gate, part of a wall around Mérida city. • Soldiers crossed it to enter the city.

- 27. ROME AND ROMANS PEOPLE AND HOUSES IN ROME
- 28. PEOPLE AND HOUSESIN ROME Patrician were the upper class. They were rich people.
- 29. PEOPLE AND HOUSESIN ROME They lived in villas (very big houses) with a garden in the centre.
- 30. PEOPLE AND HOUSESIN ROME Plebeian were the lower class. They were very poor people.
- 31. PEOPLE AND HOUSESIN ROME They lived in small houses called flats.
- 32. PEOPLE AND HOUSESIN ROME Romans families were big and they had dinner together.

- 34. LEISURE ACTIVITIES They hadfun in the Roman Coliseum ( now called amphitheater)
- 35. LEISURE ACTIVITIES In thisplace, Romans made parties and festivals .
- 36. LEISURE ACTIVITIES The gladiatorsfighted to death with beasts or others gladiators .
- 37. LEISURE ACTIVITIES Romans participatedin horse races and went to theaters to watch shows , too.
- 38. LEISURE ACTIVITIES THE FORUMwas a market place and a business centre where ancient Romans went shopping.

- 40. CHILDREN GAMES Roman childrenplayed many different games:

- 44. CHILDREN GAMES They played with animals: dogs , cats, mice, turtles, insects and so on...

- 46. MOSAICS The word “mosaic”came from Greek language and it means “muse”
- 47. MOSAICS Romans put mosaicsin different places , for example on the floor and on the walls of the houses
- 48. MOSAICS Nowadays you canfind Roman mosaics in the Roman city of Itálica (in Seville) Some of them are:
