Mark is a composting entrepreneur who believes more people should compost. Composting involves the biodegradation of organic materials. Currently only 62% of yard waste is composted in the US, with the rest harming the environment in landfills. Composting benefits the economy by providing cheap fertilizer that can be sold, and benefits gardens by producing nutrient-rich soil that helps plants grow stronger while resisting disease and weeds. Compared to other waste disposal methods like incineration and landfilling, composting is better for both health and the environment. Therefore, Mark argues that composting should be used more widely.
