Persuasive Essay On Animals
Imagine hearing the screams of hundreds of cows as the butcher slices their throat, the squeal of
newborn male chicks as they are grinded up alive, and the tears that would fall out of male pigs'
eye as they are neutered without any anesthesia. There is no humane way to slaughter animals. It's
not right to take another precious creature's life for our own selfish reasons. How can we, as
humans, be so insensitive and turn a blind eye on animals being mutilated for us to ingest? There
are several benefits to becoming a vegetarian because not only will you live longer, but you will also
save the lives of millions of animals.
According to PETA, approximately 150 billion land animals is killed for consumption every year
which is morally wrong. Angela Henderson, a representative from PETA stated, "Animals feel fear,
grief and pain when they are next in line to die in the slaughter house." This quote describes to the
reader how animal are not heartless, soulless creatures and have feelings. The products that are
consume everyday which ranges from dairy product such as milk, to the meat we eat such as pork
chop, are tied to the suffering of animals. Hens in the egg factories experience a lifetime of torture
from birth till the day they die. Baby chicks would have their beaks mutilated at birth without any
anesthesia, and subsequently, they spend the rest of their lives' in tiny little cages until death. Most
hens have never witnessed a day of sunlight, and their living condition is

Persuasive Essay On Animals In Captivity
As a child, many people would often go to the zoo or to the circus and see animals in real life. In
circuses, animals would often perform tricks and stunts, dazzling the audience. In the zoo, people
would often see animals in their native habitat, or what looks like it. Children were mainly
amazed with the animals and were always exited to go see the animals. As the years go by, they
start to realize that some of the animals are suffering and are being mistreated, especially in
circuses. They see that the animals in zoos are depressed and lonely and the animals in the
circuses are chained up. What is worse is that animals in laboratories are often treated very
poorly; more poorly than what Americans treat prisoners and refugees. There have been many
debates on whether animals should be held in captivity. Some groups believe that animals should
not be held in captivity because they have the same capacities as humans. They believe that
animals can feel emotion and have a sense of morality. Animals in captivity are deprived of their
natural habitat and their instincts. Animals raised in captivity tend to rely more on humans
compared to animals raised in the wild. They also believe zookeepers and trainers are putting
themselves at risk when taking care of the animals. There have been many incidents including the
death of trainers by animals, one highlighted by the movie "Blackfish" by director Gabriela
Cowperthwaite. There are others who believe that putting animals in captivity is beneficial for
not only the animal, but for humans as well. Humans get more jobs if more animals are put into
captivity because there is an increase in the amount of people needed. Another benefit of keeping
animals in captivity is that it could help save a species who is endangered and close to going
extinct. Another benefit is that it helps increase the amount of food available because some animals
are raised for food. Putting animals in captivity wrong unless they are being used for the animal's
benefits. The first reason as to why putting animals in captivity is wrong unless it is used to help the
animals is because animals can put the trainers and zookeepers in harm. Animals who are sick do not
tend to lash out at veterinarians

Why Do We Eat Meat?
Many people don't believe think anything of what they eat or how it got there. But the harsh truth is
the meat that you eat was once a living, breathing creature that had feeling and emotions. Maybe next
time you order a steak or chicken nuggets you should think about the animals that went through
extreme pain and conditions for you to eat. Not only is it inhumane to put animals through such pain,
not eating meat and having a vegetarian lifestyle can have huge benefits to animals, the environment,
and your health.
Can you imagine going through the pain that animals in slaughterhouses went through? Most
people don't think of that part of it but the real fact is that billions of animals went through a
painful life to be killed for food every year. Most people like to keep the thought in there heads that
these animals live on beautiful green farms where they are treated great and then have a very
peaceful death, and never feel any or little pain. Well that is not the case, these animals are treated
very unfairly. The animals in slaughterhouses are given a massive amount of antibiotics, hormones,
and drugs to keep them alive in conditions that are so bad they would otherwise kill them.
Cows are naturally very gentle and calm creatures. These smart and sweet natured animals have been
known to go to great lengths to escape slaughterhouses. More than forty–one million of these
sensitive animals suffer and die a painful death each year in the United States.
The vegetarian diet has many advantages and disadvantages for many. Not eating red meat or white
meat could represent a loss of protein and iron that could cause (in extreme cases) health problems
such as malnutrition, anemia and weaken the immune system. However, a balanced vegetarian diet
(that is, not only cheeses, cereals and the occasional fruit or vegetable) offers many advantages, for
example a much lower consumption of saturated fats (which are found in red meat), more fiber and
could be cheaper.
It's simple, you can harvest some of your own food from your home, but you can not raise livestock
and have your own slaughterhouse. In a similar way you can make your own almond milk, soy milk
or amaranth milk from your home using utensils and appliances that

Persuasive Essay On Helping Animals
Animals are the beginning to the best love you could ever dream of. Ever since I was a young
child, I've always resonated with the idea of helping animals more so than anyone and anything. It
had begun when I was a mere four years old, I've always had pets; dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and
much more. To find out more about how to help animals, I contacted Amanda Smasal, a community
outreach coordinator at Wayside Waifs. Wayside Waifs isno–kill shelter located in Kansas City,
Missouri which has adoptable dogs and cats, ready and willing to go to loving homes. When I first
emailed Smasal asking if she'd participate in the interview, I felt overwhelming fear and began to
panic about the whole encounter. The fear of having to ask someone I'd never met to talk with me
is something that scares me. Nonetheless, I sent the email asking politely yet efficiently asking that
gives me a few of her precious minutes to answer questions about a cause worth fighting for,
animal rescue hospitals. She quickly responded to my quant email approximately a day later
stating she'd happily answer any and all questions I have, significant or insignificant. The
questions took a couple days to figure out. The few days I had to create the questions were filled
with creativity and a tad bit of questionable ideas. All I asked her were the things I'd want to know
if I were on the opposite side of things. If I were the one asking questions. The simple emails
exchanged between Smasal and me led to me

Persuasive Essay On Animals
Animals are one of God's greatest gifts to the world. Animals are loyal to humans no matter their
religion, sexuality, or appearance. Humans care how their animal companions look, but why? Why
alter an animal so much that they are unrecognizable especially since they love us the way we are?
Participants from the University of British Columbia went on the streets and took a survey
showing two dogs, one that had been surgically modified, and one that looked natural. The
occupants were told that the dogs were siblings, and then were asked how the dogs looked different
but were related. Forty two percent of people said that dogs from the same litter may have the same
the blood, but they are not the same dog. (Dogs Are Born With Tails and Ears. They Should Keep
Them) These people were saying this trying to convince others that the dogs were born this way.
Unfortunately, when people think of Boxers or Doberman Pinschers, they do not think of these
beautiful dogs in their natural state. Tail docking is the act of cutting off a three to five day old
puppies tail between two vertebrates. (How Docking is Done) The puppies cry from the pain as
their tails are bleeding. The opposition may state that tail docking and ear cropping do not put the
dog in pain because they are a puppy and puppies heal faster than adult dogs; while they do heal
faster, this does not mean that it is ok to change the natural elegance of these dogs. Ear cropping is
when someone cuts off parts of the ear or put

The deeper I dig into animal abuse , the more I want to become a vegetarian. But it is not easy as
it seems. The things that I have seen and read makes me sick to my stomach. To watch a hopeless
cow, get whipped , is sickening. Watching baby Chicklets die in a big machine , brings tears to my
eyes. Millions of animals every day die cruel deaths , and I no longer want to be an accomplice to
the crimes. While it may be hard to retrain myself , I should and intend to just stop eating meat.
In an animal lover's world , killing an animal is a crime. Animals are innocent .In her article "The
Truth about Farm Animals" , former farmer Heather Rose explains, "Animals around the U.S are
mistreated every day and we don't even know about it. They are kept in small cages often with so
little space that they can't even turn around or lie down comfortably" (Reno NV). People express
that our do these things since, people have rights and animals don't. At the point when people say
things like that, it makes me so furious, what has this world come to when we say that animals
don't have rights. Is it since they can't talk? Or, on the other hand is it since they are not human and
we should regard them as we would a cloth doll. We shouldn't treat animals along these lines
regardless, there are better approaches to get the meat at that point by killing it at 5–7 weeks old
(chicken) or six months(pigs). I believe that killing animals is pure evil , I mean it's despicable ,

Persuasive Essay On Caring For Animals
I am a firm believer that pets are family members and should be treated as such. For my entire life
I have been lucky enough that my mom has surrounded me with numerous different pets. Through
the years we had a lizard, two fish we won at a fair that last for eight years (and reproduced!), a
guinea pig we rescued from hurricane Sandy, hamsters, dogs, and most currently a rabbit. I have
always found comfort in having animals around and loved taking care of them. My mom has truly
shown me the capacity for loving animals of any kind. I am currently a sophomore nursing student at
Seton Hall University and would love to make my life about caring for others, just like I love caring
for animals. The animal that has surely touched my life most was one of my dogs. I was a proud
owner of black lab–boxer mix named Taj, for eleven years. We lost Taj due to bladder cancer
around a year ago and I still think about him every day. He impacted my family in so many ways
and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known what I think (and everyone should think of
their pets) as the greatest, most loving best furry friend. I to this day credit Taj with helping keep my
family sane around some tough times.
My mom rescued Taj around twelve years ago when I was eight years old and my sister was
about to be born. He was always a constant in our crazy home and seemed to know what we were
all thinking and was receptive to whatever was going on. When I was upset, he would come curl
up next to me; when I was excited he would run up to me and give me his butt for a rub because
he was overjoyed too. When I got a boyfriend, Taj would be curious but cautious to make sure I was
okay with someone new in the house. Taj has actually converted my always unfortunately pet–less
boyfriend into a dog lover. Even when things got rough, my dog was always there. My family had
some hard times when my mom got divorced a few years ago. Life got messy, and it was a difficult
time for all of us. That is what made it even more heart–wrenching when we found out Taj was
diagnosed with bladder cancer around two years ago. It was extremely small when they first found
the tumor, so we opted to put Taj down when we felt he was ready. We

"Animals should not require our permission to live on earth. Animals were given the right to be
here long before we arrived", Anthony Douglas Williams stated. Which is in fact, true. Most
humans, like to characterize themselves as animal lovers. They do not like to see themselves as
killers. Although animals may make good pets for people, humans take advantage of animals for
their own benefit. Humans use animals for the food and fashion industry, research, and while doing
that, they also destroy habitats. These are the main sources that depict humans as killers. As you can
see, human beings are the source of animal cruelty. The food and fashion industry are two very
popular industries that involve harming animals. Animals are imprisoned in slaughterhouses which
prepare the animals for slaughter. Animals who are slaughtered provide food for people and other
animals, skin for leather clothing and other goods, and hooves and bones are made into things that
are used by people or other animals such as, dog chew toys and necklaces. Numerous farms and
factories actually raise animals for slaughter and many animals are fed foods and drugs to make
them grow but not healthier and instead of an injecting the animal with a syringe, many farmers put
a steroid–loaded pellet between the skin and cartilage of the back of the animal's ear. Animals are
mainly hunted for their skin, bones, internal organs or shell and Some of these items are very
expensive to buy and are very valuable. Some

Everyday nearly twenty six million meat birds die. That's 300 chickens a second. These chickens
who are basically babies, hang by their feet in blood splattered shackles. Their lives have barely
begun. With crimson feathers, they are forced to stare at the incarnadine walls. Their only
reminder of family, friends, and strangers, it's a promise of their future. Barely alive chickens who
have been thrown, kicked or stomped upon, litter the floor gasping for air in the ammonia filled
room. About twenty eight thousand cows die everyday. Cows have their limbs strewn around to
decorate the floor, smears of red matching the kill floor's stained color. Deep, low bellows echoing
of the walls signaling the cows' distress when they smell the blood of their friends and now they
know what's next. The drain overflows with the almost black fluid as a cow's throat is slit, its
eyes wide while all twelve gallons of its blood comes cascading out while the rest of them hang
from bloody chains protruding from the ceiling. These animals did not choose the fate that they
currently hold. In today's world, with the beef and poultry industry's appalling inner workings, being
vegetarian, or even vegan, are the only morally right diets, especially since we have said we want
animals treated humanely and we would be just fine without meat.

Persuasive Essay On Wild Animals
With nearly millions of animals dying each year from being captive, or endangered species being
hunted down and killed, we need to discover a new way of displaying that our world is full of
beautiful animals and wildlife. Wild animals are suffering both physically and mentally from the lack
of freedom that confinement imposes. These harmful environments are preventing animals from
having the opportunity to live in, and be exposed to their natural habitats. Keeping animals
imprisoned in cages and small enclosures just for the sake of human observation causes stress and
frustration, which is risking animals overall health and well being. These morally unacceptable and
cruel actions of retaining wild animals in captivity is certainly wrong....show more content...
Zoos regularly waste millions of dollars constructing statues, and building gift shops and concession
stands. This money would do far more to help animals if it were spent on habitat preservation
projects. While the Lincoln Park zoo has free admissions all year long, people take the advantage to
go and watch animals perform tricks, paying no attention to their dangerous and insufficient living
environment.
Proposal
The Lincoln Park Zoo should be banned in order to protect animals from unsuitable enclosures and
inadequate living conditions. Many of us feel the obligation to give animals the same rights as
ourselves, so the idea of closing this zoo will prevent the capturing of wildlife and help end the
miseries of several animals. By shutting down the Lincoln Park Zoo, numerous controversial
issues and struggles will brought to attention on how to care for captive wildlife, or where animals
would go without a home. However, if public zoos planned to close within the next year, hundreds
of animals that are currently residing in the exhibits will be transported to an animal care center
and then released back into the wildlife. This would allow for animals to roam free without being
enclosed within a limited space, and be able to enjoy their natural habitat. Getting rid of cages
reinforces the idea of interacting with animals and biodiversity in parks and reserves in a natural way.
By demanding that the Lincoln Park Zoo be shut down in order to save

Persuasive Essay On Endangered Animals
Animals Many animals go extinct because people think it's okay to keep hunting them until there
are no more of the population left. But it isn't because if people hunt and kill all the species of that
animal, then there would be none left. No elephants no giraffes or no emperor tamarin monkeys.
Zoo's have tried to take in endangered species, but if there isn't any how would they get them? They
couldn't because it would be too late, people would have already killed them all.
Elephants would travel in herds of families, to form a herd it would be from 8–100 individuals.
There are only two different types of species, the Elephas Maximus and the Loxodonta cyclotis
elephants. The Elephas Maximus were Asian and African savanna elephants. The Loxodonta
cyclotis were African forest elephants. Babies would hold onto their moms tails because they
would be trained to do so. People thought it was cute to see that so trainers would train the
elephants to do that. Wild elephants don't walk in that formation or in any order (Bradford).
Elephants have got to be the biggest living land animal in the world. Blue whales weigh a ton more,
but also they are the largest living water animals.
Emperor Tamarin Monkeys are found in the forest of South America and live in groups from
between 2–8 monkeys. They were named after their mustaches, which was thought to resemble
German emperor Wilhelm ll. Due to their small size they are able to move from branch to branch
very quickly. Their prey includes fruit, insects, and rodents. They also have predators which are,
hawks, snakes and wild cats. They have a small body size they are all mostly between 7in.–12in.
Their tails are very long and thin, and most of the time they live to be between 8–15 years. Most of
all they are very playful animals ("A–Z Animals"). They are very tame, playful, and loving animals.
When they are in an area they love to be petted by humans and they would play around with
whoever it is. They are usually in groups of 15 others. The best thing is if you get one as a pet as a
baby you would have to put them in diapers to potty train them just like an actual baby.
Giraffes are the tallest living animal, and they travel in herds of 3–15 animals. They have their long

Persuasive Essay On Hunting Animals
How many animals will have to go extinct for humans to stop hurting mother nature? Humans have
been hunting animals since the beginning of time; hunting animals can go back to about 1.8 billion
years ago. Killing big game became the new sport and has been happening for centuries. Many U.S.
presidents such as Roosevelt did it. Many wealthy people did it for fun and bringing back the
animal or part of the animal was to show how well the hunt went. Hunting animals for sport wasn't a
problem until these animals were being poached so much that the death rate overseeds the birth
rate of these animals. Trophy hunting is a big problem in our modern day society and if we don't
do something to change this we won't be able to share these amazing creatures with our future
generations. People use animal parts for many things such as big cat fur for coats or fashion. They
use elephant tusks because it's made from ivory to make jewelry and in some chinese culture they
use it as medicine("Rescuing Africa's Elephants." pg 6). You would think that because they are many
act such as The Endangered Species Act that people who follow the rules and not hunt these
beautiful species but some people have to do it to feed their families sometimes. Rhino horn was
reported to be selling for $65,000 per 2.2 pounds in 2012, making it more expensive by weight
than gold, diamonds or cocaine. These goods would help feed families and supply them in the
time of need. There are many pros and cons to this poaching endangered animals issue. There are
several cons such as extinction for these animals. Some poachers say they have to do it to feed
their families. A 33 year old kenyan man said the he was kind of forced into the business due to
drought and famine. That is a con to some people who hunt these animals is having enough money
to support their family. The reality is that two–thirds of wild animals will go extinct by 2020 and the
ESA (endangered species act) has helped but it will not save every animal for sure.
This a worldwide problem and we need to act fast to save these helpless animals. Two major
conservation groups predicts dire circumstances for the world's wild animals .warning that
two–thirds of vertebrate populations could

The fact is that, despite the obvious immoralities of killing to just take a fur or tooth, it is one of the
only things keeping the animals alive in Africa. That statement probably doesn't make much sense
on the surface, but there are many more variables in the whole idea than just the killing of the
animals by trophy hunters like poachers, the countries individual wealth, and the ability for the
countries to protect the animals in their territories.
It is common knowledge that many animals in Africa are going extinct and it is most definitely
because of the involvement of people. For example, 10,000–15,000 free–roaming African lions
remain, down from 50,000 a decade ago and In 1900 there were about 100,000 cheetah worldwide,
present estimates place their number at 10,000 –15,000 with about one tenth of those living in
captivity. Because of this many people feel that it is our responsibility to make sure that they survive,
or at least continue as nature would intend. Well that is simply an unrealistic expectation, but we
should try to make sure we don't completely ruin the ecosystems, and trophy hunting is the last in a
long line of problems to be resolved, and as for now it is actually one of the only things helping
certain regions who impose it properly.
The money from this allows countries like Tanzania to pay to protect the animals from to more
serious threat, poaching. Poachers are mainly interested in bush meat, the meat from wildebeests,
they then take the meat and

If you aren't concerned with innocent animals being euthanized because they aren't getting adopted
then stop reading here. Every year thousands of sheltered and animals are being euthanized due to
the fact that people don't want to adopt them. By finding bright spots in shelters such as similarities
between animals that are adopted, and then find out how to spread those characteristics to other
animals in the shelter. I'll be researching potential ways to increase the animals' happiness and then
hopefully their personalities will change as well.
Every year there are thousands of animals abused, neglected, or left for dead. The purpose of
Humane Societies and Shelters are to give a temporary home to animals in need, as well as feed
them. Being treated badly affects these animal's personalities in various negative ways. Some become
very shy and skittish, while others become hostile and mean. Shelters put their found animals up for
adoption after giving them all their required shots, and a large portion get adopted by a loving
family. What happens to the remaining that do not get adopted? They are euthanized because
people simply do not want them. To euthanize an animal is to "put it down" because it either puts
people and animals' lives in danger, or shelters simply don't have the room or resources to care for
them during their later years. Last year, across the US, about 1.5 animals are euthanized in order
to make room in shelters. This may seem like a lot, but this is actually a decrease since 2011,
where that number was up to 2.6 million. This is almost half of all rescued animals, because about
3.2 were adopted last year. My plan is to visit our local shelter, and observe the differences between
animals that are going to be adopted and animals that may be euthanized. Finding what makes certain
animals more appealing than others is very important, so I can help other animals share those traits,
and appeal to the public more. My long–term goal is to change the behavior of the person, not the
animal, because what's wrong with the animal may not be its struggle, but rather what it doesn't
have that people look for. For example, if we find that dogs with bright colored blankets and a

Paul McCartney once said, "if slaughterhouses had glass walls, we would all be vegetarian." There
are many different forms of animal cruelty, ranging from labs, to farms, to even circuses. People
have been using animals for a long time, they have controlled them for even longer. But despite that,
there have still been some positive outcomes from this otherwise dark subject. Some people support
the things that are happening to these animals. But others make it their mission to stand up for the
animals that are mistreated everyday. Animal cruelty can mean many things to many different
people, it can be a controversial topic, with many different sides and stories to it, it has a long
history, much of it being good, much of it bad.
There are more types of animal cruelty then one could even imagine. Many people do not consider
that what they are eating, or wearing, or using, or enjoying came at the cost of an animal. According
to Rachel Hajar, one form of animal cruelty that has been put into the spotlight in recent years is
animal testing (Alternative to Animal Testing 39). Animals are brought into labs and spend their
entire lives there being tortured, used, and experimented on. It's estimated that each year, more than
100 million animals are used for experimenting. They use all sorts of animals, including dogs, cats,
rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, fish, and more. They are forced to live in cages, confined, and isolated.
Another form of animal cruelty can be found

Adopt or Buy? Many people buy the pets they want, but there are rarely any human beings that
actually adopt. Let me ask you a simple question. Do you usually buy your pets from a breeder, or
do you actually go out and search for the one to adopt? Many of you will say buy from a breeder,
but that's okay. Let me just list my facts and you think them over. Maybe I can get your opinion to
change. Logos. Facts. Adopting. It means saving one of the more than six million cats, dogs, or
countless other animals who enter U.S. animal shelters EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Adopting is never
buying any type of animal. What's the difference between a pet store and an animal shelter? This is
one of the most asked questions over this topic. And the answer? Profit. Pet stores. Pet stores sell
animals only for the money or profit they can get off that animal. Animal shelters are there to save
lives. Get an animal off the street. Animal shelters take unwanted, stray, or abandoned animals. Now
you may be thinking about an adoption fee. Wouldn't that basically count as buying? Absolutely not.
Shelters use the adoption fee so they can get more positive things for the animals. Food, medicine,
spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and other important things for your new
companion needs. In other words, your money is going to help animals. Still not convinced adopting
is better? Let's take a look at some examples.
To convince an audience of the author's credibility or character. Ethical appeal; Ethos. "Each
year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too
many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a new pet.
The number of euthanized animals could be changed dramatically if more people adopted pets
instead of buying them." The Humane Society of the United States. Every time you adopt a pet
you're saving it's life. Now i'm not a very good example as I just bought a dog from a breeder a week
ago, but my family has adopted. We had heard of this pitbull mix that was at the Sulphur Springs

Believe it or not, humans depend on animals for pretty much everything. They do so much for
humans, even though we don't appreciate them the way we should. Animals sacrifice their lives to
make ours easier. Although they can't directly communicate with us, we assume that they are here
on this earth to do what we want to do with them. The animal kingdom should be able to live freely
without having humans control their lives. Humans should have more respect for the animal
kingdom and allow animals to live in peace.

Why would anyone abuse an animal? Animal abuse is rather common, you could be doing it even
if you don't think you are. There are many animals that deal with abuse or neglect, about 1,423
animals a year. That's in the U.S. alone. Animals are living creatures, just like you, and they're not
cheap. Neglect is another version of abuse, and it can come in many forms. Neglect could be starving
them, not giving them medical care, not paying attention to them, etc, etc. Animals are just like
humans, I mean, sure they can't make their own meals, and they can't drive a car, but that doesn't
mean they have fewer rights than you do. If an animal is abused or neglected the animal will be
taken and the owner should be charged. If someone abuses an...show more content...
This is the simplest thing to understand. You must take care of your pets, money is only an object.
Your pet is family, your pet will be with you through everything if you treat them correctly. Again,
pets aren't cheap. Food for a dog or cat can cost $5.00 – $30.00 alone. A pet is like a child. They
depend on you to keep them alive and healthy.
There are many animals who deal with abuse everyday, and that is not okay. If an animal is
neglected or abused the pet will be taken away and the caretaker will be charged $1,500. Animals
are very loyal, such as dogs, dogs are one of the most loyal animals you can own. When abused,
they don't know where they went wrong. They only know that you are mad at them. Animals,
such as humans, shouldn't be abused or neglected. Most animals who are abused or neglected are
usually abused unintentionally, but the second most are abused on purpose. The people who
abuse animals on purpose sometimes deal with mental illnesses, were abused as children, or have
a hard time dealing with stress or anger. Animals are just like humans who have been abused.
They are usually skittish and shy. People tend to see animals differently than humans, but they are
the same in my eyes. For example, if I locked you in my basement, starved, and beat you, I'd be
charged with attempted murder and kidnapping. Pets have the same rights as you to live freely, but
people don't see it. You are able to live on your own and take care of yourself, but they

Persuasive Essay On Wild Animals
What would our world be like if animals were not walking the streets, begging for food, attacking
people and other pets, starving to death, and even causing jail time for humans? The amount of
animals we have on our planet is massive. Since 2011, the number of dogs and cats entering
shelters annually has declined from approximately 7.2 million. It is about a twenty to one ratio of
pets to humans, and that's not including the wild animals we have illegally being kept here in
people's backyards. From the number of animals on the streets and in shelters, hoarding cases and
abuse, animal cruelty, laws on animals, dog fights, neglect, to people doing jail time due to their
pets, there's an abundant amount of issues our country has with the furry creatures and nothing
being done about it. This issue is a hot topic in our own town hall meetings and neighborhood
meetings with citizens. Placing a pet limit on every household in the United States should be a
must in today's society, due to people not being able to juggle their pets, home life, work life,
money issues, and family life. The amount of animals on the streets and in shelters is abundant. If
there is not a pet limit per house, the percentage of animals on the street will go up due to owners
neglecting them since they will not be able to take care of them. According to Kristina Pepelko in
the article "Alarming Facts About Pet Homelessness," she states, "There are about 70 million stray
animals living in the U.S.".

Persuasive Essay Topics On Animals

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Animals Imagine hearing the screams of hundreds of cows as the butcher slices their throat, the squeal of newborn male chicks as they are grinded up alive, and the tears that would fall out of male pigs' eye as they are neutered without any anesthesia. There is no humane way to slaughter animals. It's not right to take another precious creature's life for our own selfish reasons. How can we, as humans, be so insensitive and turn a blind eye on animals being mutilated for us to ingest? There are several benefits to becoming a vegetarian because not only will you live longer, but you will also save the lives of millions of animals. According to PETA, approximately 150 billion land animals is killed for consumption every year which is morally wrong. Angela Henderson, a representative from PETA stated, "Animals feel fear, grief and pain when they are next in line to die in the slaughter house." This quote describes to the reader how animal are not heartless, soulless creatures and have feelings. The products that are consume everyday which ranges from dairy product such as milk, to the meat we eat such as pork chop, are tied to the suffering of animals. Hens in the egg factories experience a lifetime of torture from birth till the day they die. Baby chicks would have their beaks mutilated at birth without any anesthesia, and subsequently, they spend the rest of their lives' in tiny little cages until death. Most hens have never witnessed a day of sunlight, and their living condition is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Animals In Captivity As a child, many people would often go to the zoo or to the circus and see animals in real life. In circuses, animals would often perform tricks and stunts, dazzling the audience. In the zoo, people would often see animals in their native habitat, or what looks like it. Children were mainly amazed with the animals and were always exited to go see the animals. As the years go by, they start to realize that some of the animals are suffering and are being mistreated, especially in circuses. They see that the animals in zoos are depressed and lonely and the animals in the circuses are chained up. What is worse is that animals in laboratories are often treated very poorly; more poorly than what Americans treat prisoners and refugees. There have been many debates on whether animals should be held in captivity. Some groups believe that animals should not be held in captivity because they have the same capacities as humans. They believe that animals can feel emotion and have a sense of morality. Animals in captivity are deprived of their natural habitat and their instincts. Animals raised in captivity tend to rely more on humans compared to animals raised in the wild. They also believe zookeepers and trainers are putting themselves at risk when taking care of the animals. There have been many incidents including the death of trainers by animals, one highlighted by the movie "Blackfish" by director Gabriela Cowperthwaite. There are others who believe that putting animals in captivity is beneficial for not only the animal, but for humans as well. Humans get more jobs if more animals are put into captivity because there is an increase in the amount of people needed. Another benefit of keeping animals in captivity is that it could help save a species who is endangered and close to going extinct. Another benefit is that it helps increase the amount of food available because some animals are raised for food. Putting animals in captivity wrong unless they are being used for the animal's benefits. The first reason as to why putting animals in captivity is wrong unless it is used to help the animals is because animals can put the trainers and zookeepers in harm. Animals who are sick do not tend to lash out at veterinarians Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Why Do We Eat Meat? Many people don't believe think anything of what they eat or how it got there. But the harsh truth is the meat that you eat was once a living, breathing creature that had feeling and emotions. Maybe next time you order a steak or chicken nuggets you should think about the animals that went through extreme pain and conditions for you to eat. Not only is it inhumane to put animals through such pain, not eating meat and having a vegetarian lifestyle can have huge benefits to animals, the environment, and your health. Can you imagine going through the pain that animals in slaughterhouses went through? Most people don't think of that part of it but the real fact is that billions of animals went through a painful life to be killed for food every year. Most people like to keep the thought in there heads that these animals live on beautiful green farms where they are treated great and then have a very peaceful death, and never feel any or little pain. Well that is not the case, these animals are treated very unfairly. The animals in slaughterhouses are given a massive amount of antibiotics, hormones, and drugs to keep them alive in conditions that are so bad they would otherwise kill them. Cows are naturally very gentle and calm creatures. These smart and sweet natured animals have been known to go to great lengths to escape slaughterhouses. More than forty–one million of these sensitive animals suffer and die a painful death each year in the United States. The vegetarian diet has many advantages and disadvantages for many. Not eating red meat or white meat could represent a loss of protein and iron that could cause (in extreme cases) health problems such as malnutrition, anemia and weaken the immune system. However, a balanced vegetarian diet (that is, not only cheeses, cereals and the occasional fruit or vegetable) offers many advantages, for example a much lower consumption of saturated fats (which are found in red meat), more fiber and could be cheaper. It's simple, you can harvest some of your own food from your home, but you can not raise livestock and have your own slaughterhouse. In a similar way you can make your own almond milk, soy milk or amaranth milk from your home using utensils and appliances that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Helping Animals Animals are the beginning to the best love you could ever dream of. Ever since I was a young child, I've always resonated with the idea of helping animals more so than anyone and anything. It had begun when I was a mere four years old, I've always had pets; dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and much more. To find out more about how to help animals, I contacted Amanda Smasal, a community outreach coordinator at Wayside Waifs. Wayside Waifs isno–kill shelter located in Kansas City, Missouri which has adoptable dogs and cats, ready and willing to go to loving homes. When I first emailed Smasal asking if she'd participate in the interview, I felt overwhelming fear and began to panic about the whole encounter. The fear of having to ask someone I'd never met to talk with me is something that scares me. Nonetheless, I sent the email asking politely yet efficiently asking that gives me a few of her precious minutes to answer questions about a cause worth fighting for, animal rescue hospitals. She quickly responded to my quant email approximately a day later stating she'd happily answer any and all questions I have, significant or insignificant. The questions took a couple days to figure out. The few days I had to create the questions were filled with creativity and a tad bit of questionable ideas. All I asked her were the things I'd want to know if I were on the opposite side of things. If I were the one asking questions. • 5. Persuasive Essay On Animals Animals are one of God's greatest gifts to the world. Animals are loyal to humans no matter their religion, sexuality, or appearance. Humans care how their animal companions look, but why? Why alter an animal so much that they are unrecognizable especially since they love us the way we are? Participants from the University of British Columbia went on the streets and took a survey showing two dogs, one that had been surgically modified, and one that looked natural. The occupants were told that the dogs were siblings, and then were asked how the dogs looked different but were related. Forty two percent of people said that dogs from the same litter may have the same the blood, but they are not the same dog. (Dogs Are Born With Tails and Ears. They Should Keep Them) These people were saying this trying to convince others that the dogs were born this way. Unfortunately, when people think of Boxers or Doberman Pinschers, they do not think of these beautiful dogs in their natural state. Tail docking is the act of cutting off a three to five day old puppies tail between two vertebrates. (How Docking is Done) The puppies cry from the pain as their tails are bleeding. The opposition may state that tail docking and ear cropping do not put the dog in pain because they are a puppy and puppies heal faster than adult dogs; while they do heal faster, this does not mean that it is ok to change the natural elegance of these dogs. Ear cropping is when someone cuts off parts of the ear or put Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Animals The deeper I dig into animal abuse , the more I want to become a vegetarian. But it is not easy as it seems. The things that I have seen and read makes me sick to my stomach. To watch a hopeless cow, get whipped , is sickening. Watching baby Chicklets die in a big machine , brings tears to my eyes. Millions of animals every day die cruel deaths , and I no longer want to be an accomplice to the crimes. While it may be hard to retrain myself , I should and intend to just stop eating meat. In an animal lover's world , killing an animal is a crime. Animals are innocent .In her article "The Truth about Farm Animals" , former farmer Heather Rose explains, "Animals around the U.S are mistreated every day and we don't even know about it. They are kept in small cages often with so little space that they can't even turn around or lie down comfortably" (Reno NV). People express that our do these things since, people have rights and animals don't. At the point when people say things like that, it makes me so furious, what has this world come to when we say that animals don't have rights. Is it since they can't talk? Or, on the other hand is it since they are not human and we should regard them as we would a cloth doll. We shouldn't treat animals along these lines regardless, there are better approaches to get the meat at that point by killing it at 5–7 weeks old (chicken) or six months(pigs). I believe that killing animals is pure evil , I mean it's despicable , Animals have lives Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Caring For Animals I am a firm believer that pets are family members and should be treated as such. For my entire life I have been lucky enough that my mom has surrounded me with numerous different pets. Through the years we had a lizard, two fish we won at a fair that last for eight years (and reproduced!), a guinea pig we rescued from hurricane Sandy, hamsters, dogs, and most currently a rabbit. I have always found comfort in having animals around and loved taking care of them. My mom has truly shown me the capacity for loving animals of any kind. I am currently a sophomore nursing student at Seton Hall University and would love to make my life about caring for others, just like I love caring for animals. The animal that has surely touched my life most was one of my dogs. I was a proud owner of black lab–boxer mix named Taj, for eleven years. We lost Taj due to bladder cancer around a year ago and I still think about him every day. He impacted my family in so many ways and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known what I think (and everyone should think of their pets) as the greatest, most loving best furry friend. I to this day credit Taj with helping keep my family sane around some tough times. My mom rescued Taj around twelve years ago when I was eight years old and my sister was about to be born. He was always a constant in our crazy home and seemed to know what we were all thinking and was receptive to whatever was going on. When I was upset, he would come curl up next to me; when I was excited he would run up to me and give me his butt for a rub because he was overjoyed too. When I got a boyfriend, Taj would be curious but cautious to make sure I was okay with someone new in the house. Taj has actually converted my always unfortunately pet–less boyfriend into a dog lover. Even when things got rough, my dog was always there. My family had some hard times when my mom got divorced a few years ago. Life got messy, and it was a difficult time for all of us. That is what made it even more heart–wrenching when we found out Taj was diagnosed with bladder cancer around two years ago. It was extremely small when they first found the tumor, so we opted to put Taj down when we felt he was ready. We Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Animals "Animals should not require our permission to live on earth. Animals were given the right to be here long before we arrived", Anthony Douglas Williams stated. Which is in fact, true. Most humans, like to characterize themselves as animal lovers. They do not like to see themselves as killers. Although animals may make good pets for people, humans take advantage of animals for their own benefit. Humans use animals for the food and fashion industry, research, and while doing that, they also destroy habitats. These are the main sources that depict humans as killers. As you can see, human beings are the source of animal cruelty. The food and fashion industry are two very popular industries that involve harming animals. Animals are imprisoned in slaughterhouses which prepare the animals for slaughter. Animals who are slaughtered provide food for people and other animals, skin for leather clothing and other goods, and hooves and bones are made into things that are used by people or other animals such as, dog chew toys and necklaces. Numerous farms and factories actually raise animals for slaughter and many animals are fed foods and drugs to make them grow but not healthier and instead of an injecting the animal with a syringe, many farmers put a steroid–loaded pellet between the skin and cartilage of the back of the animal's ear. Animals are mainly hunted for their skin, bones, internal organs or shell and Some of these items are very expensive to buy and are very valuable. Some Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Animals Everyday nearly twenty six million meat birds die. That's 300 chickens a second. These chickens who are basically babies, hang by their feet in blood splattered shackles. Their lives have barely begun. With crimson feathers, they are forced to stare at the incarnadine walls. Their only reminder of family, friends, and strangers, it's a promise of their future. Barely alive chickens who have been thrown, kicked or stomped upon, litter the floor gasping for air in the ammonia filled room. About twenty eight thousand cows die everyday. Cows have their limbs strewn around to decorate the floor, smears of red matching the kill floor's stained color. Deep, low bellows echoing of the walls signaling the cows' distress when they smell the blood of their friends and now they know what's next. The drain overflows with the almost black fluid as a cow's throat is slit, its eyes wide while all twelve gallons of its blood comes cascading out while the rest of them hang from bloody chains protruding from the ceiling. These animals did not choose the fate that they currently hold. In today's world, with the beef and poultry industry's appalling inner workings, being vegetarian, or even vegan, are the only morally right diets, especially since we have said we want animals treated humanely and we would be just fine without meat. We say we want animals treated humanely, but don't care when industries twist the definition. It has been shown by The American Society for the Prevention of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Wild Animals With nearly millions of animals dying each year from being captive, or endangered species being hunted down and killed, we need to discover a new way of displaying that our world is full of beautiful animals and wildlife. Wild animals are suffering both physically and mentally from the lack of freedom that confinement imposes. These harmful environments are preventing animals from having the opportunity to live in, and be exposed to their natural habitats. Keeping animals imprisoned in cages and small enclosures just for the sake of human observation causes stress and frustration, which is risking animals overall health and well being. These morally unacceptable and cruel actions of retaining wild animals in captivity is certainly wrong....show more content... Zoos regularly waste millions of dollars constructing statues, and building gift shops and concession stands. This money would do far more to help animals if it were spent on habitat preservation projects. While the Lincoln Park zoo has free admissions all year long, people take the advantage to go and watch animals perform tricks, paying no attention to their dangerous and insufficient living environment. Proposal The Lincoln Park Zoo should be banned in order to protect animals from unsuitable enclosures and inadequate living conditions. Many of us feel the obligation to give animals the same rights as ourselves, so the idea of closing this zoo will prevent the capturing of wildlife and help end the miseries of several animals. By shutting down the Lincoln Park Zoo, numerous controversial issues and struggles will brought to attention on how to care for captive wildlife, or where animals would go without a home. However, if public zoos planned to close within the next year, hundreds of animals that are currently residing in the exhibits will be transported to an animal care center and then released back into the wildlife. This would allow for animals to roam free without being enclosed within a limited space, and be able to enjoy their natural habitat. Getting rid of cages reinforces the idea of interacting with animals and biodiversity in parks and reserves in a natural way. • 12. Persuasive Essay On Endangered Animals Animals Many animals go extinct because people think it's okay to keep hunting them until there are no more of the population left. But it isn't because if people hunt and kill all the species of that animal, then there would be none left. No elephants no giraffes or no emperor tamarin monkeys. Zoo's have tried to take in endangered species, but if there isn't any how would they get them? They couldn't because it would be too late, people would have already killed them all. Elephants would travel in herds of families, to form a herd it would be from 8–100 individuals. There are only two different types of species, the Elephas Maximus and the Loxodonta cyclotis elephants. The Elephas Maximus were Asian and African savanna elephants. The Loxodonta cyclotis were African forest elephants. Babies would hold onto their moms tails because they would be trained to do so. People thought it was cute to see that so trainers would train the elephants to do that. Wild elephants don't walk in that formation or in any order (Bradford). Elephants have got to be the biggest living land animal in the world. Blue whales weigh a ton more, but also they are the largest living water animals. Emperor Tamarin Monkeys are found in the forest of South America and live in groups from between 2–8 monkeys. They were named after their mustaches, which was thought to resemble German emperor Wilhelm ll. Due to their small size they are able to move from branch to branch very quickly. Their prey includes fruit, insects, and rodents. They also have predators which are, hawks, snakes and wild cats. They have a small body size they are all mostly between 7in.–12in. Their tails are very long and thin, and most of the time they live to be between 8–15 years. Most of all they are very playful animals ("A–Z Animals"). They are very tame, playful, and loving animals. When they are in an area they love to be petted by humans and they would play around with whoever it is. They are usually in groups of 15 others. The best thing is if you get one as a pet as a baby you would have to put them in diapers to potty train them just like an actual baby. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Hunting Animals How many animals will have to go extinct for humans to stop hurting mother nature? Humans have been hunting animals since the beginning of time; hunting animals can go back to about 1.8 billion years ago. Killing big game became the new sport and has been happening for centuries. Many U.S. presidents such as Roosevelt did it. Many wealthy people did it for fun and bringing back the animal or part of the animal was to show how well the hunt went. Hunting animals for sport wasn't a problem until these animals were being poached so much that the death rate overseeds the birth rate of these animals. Trophy hunting is a big problem in our modern day society and if we don't do something to change this we won't be able to share these amazing creatures with our future generations. People use animal parts for many things such as big cat fur for coats or fashion. They use elephant tusks because it's made from ivory to make jewelry and in some chinese culture they use it as medicine("Rescuing Africa's Elephants." pg 6). You would think that because they are many act such as The Endangered Species Act that people who follow the rules and not hunt these beautiful species but some people have to do it to feed their families sometimes. Rhino horn was reported to be selling for $65,000 per 2.2 pounds in 2012, making it more expensive by weight than gold, diamonds or cocaine. These goods would help feed families and supply them in the time of need. There are many pros and cons to this poaching endangered animals issue. There are several cons such as extinction for these animals. Some poachers say they have to do it to feed their families. A 33 year old kenyan man said the he was kind of forced into the business due to drought and famine. That is a con to some people who hunt these animals is having enough money to support their family. The reality is that two–thirds of wild animals will go extinct by 2020 and the ESA (endangered species act) has helped but it will not save every animal for sure. This a worldwide problem and we need to act fast to save these helpless animals. • 14. Persuasive Essay On Animal Hunting The fact is that, despite the obvious immoralities of killing to just take a fur or tooth, it is one of the only things keeping the animals alive in Africa. That statement probably doesn't make much sense on the surface, but there are many more variables in the whole idea than just the killing of the animals by trophy hunters like poachers, the countries individual wealth, and the ability for the countries to protect the animals in their territories. It is common knowledge that many animals in Africa are going extinct and it is most definitely because of the involvement of people. For example, 10,000–15,000 free–roaming African lions remain, down from 50,000 a decade ago and In 1900 there were about 100,000 cheetah worldwide, present estimates place their number at 10,000 –15,000 with about one tenth of those living in captivity. Because of this many people feel that it is our responsibility to make sure that they survive, or at least continue as nature would intend. Well that is simply an unrealistic expectation, but we should try to make sure we don't completely ruin the ecosystems, and trophy hunting is the last in a long line of problems to be resolved, and as for now it is actually one of the only things helping certain regions who impose it properly. The money from this allows countries like Tanzania to pay to protect the animals from to more serious threat, poaching. Poachers are mainly interested in bush meat, the meat from wildebeests, they then take the meat and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Persuasive Essay On Animals If you aren't concerned with innocent animals being euthanized because they aren't getting adopted then stop reading here. Every year thousands of sheltered and animals are being euthanized due to the fact that people don't want to adopt them. By finding bright spots in shelters such as similarities between animals that are adopted, and then find out how to spread those characteristics to other animals in the shelter. I'll be researching potential ways to increase the animals' happiness and then hopefully their personalities will change as well. Every year there are thousands of animals abused, neglected, or left for dead. The purpose of Humane Societies and Shelters are to give a temporary home to animals in need, as well as feed them. Being treated badly affects these animal's personalities in various negative ways. Some become very shy and skittish, while others become hostile and mean. Shelters put their found animals up for adoption after giving them all their required shots, and a large portion get adopted by a loving family. What happens to the remaining that do not get adopted? They are euthanized because people simply do not want them. To euthanize an animal is to "put it down" because it either puts people and animals' lives in danger, or shelters simply don't have the room or resources to care for them during their later years. Last year, across the US, about 1.5 animals are euthanized in order to make room in shelters. This may seem like a lot, but this is actually a decrease since 2011, where that number was up to 2.6 million. This is almost half of all rescued animals, because about 3.2 were adopted last year. My plan is to visit our local shelter, and observe the differences between animals that are going to be adopted and animals that may be euthanized. Finding what makes certain animals more appealing than others is very important, so I can help other animals share those traits, and appeal to the public more. My long–term goal is to change the behavior of the person, not the animal, because what's wrong with the animal may not be its struggle, but rather what it doesn't have that people look for. For example, if we find that dogs with bright colored blankets and a stuffed bear inside their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Persuasive Essay On Animal Cruelty Animal Cruelty Paul McCartney once said, "if slaughterhouses had glass walls, we would all be vegetarian." There are many different forms of animal cruelty, ranging from labs, to farms, to even circuses. People have been using animals for a long time, they have controlled them for even longer. But despite that, there have still been some positive outcomes from this otherwise dark subject. Some people support the things that are happening to these animals. But others make it their mission to stand up for the animals that are mistreated everyday. Animal cruelty can mean many things to many different people, it can be a controversial topic, with many different sides and stories to it, it has a long history, much of it being good, much of it bad. There are more types of animal cruelty then one could even imagine. Many people do not consider that what they are eating, or wearing, or using, or enjoying came at the cost of an animal. According to Rachel Hajar, one form of animal cruelty that has been put into the spotlight in recent years is animal testing (Alternative to Animal Testing 39). Animals are brought into labs and spend their entire lives there being tortured, used, and experimented on. It's estimated that each year, more than 100 million animals are used for experimenting. They use all sorts of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, fish, and more. They are forced to live in cages, confined, and isolated. Another form of animal cruelty can be found Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay On Animal Adoption Adopt or Buy? Many people buy the pets they want, but there are rarely any human beings that actually adopt. Let me ask you a simple question. Do you usually buy your pets from a breeder, or do you actually go out and search for the one to adopt? Many of you will say buy from a breeder, but that's okay. Let me just list my facts and you think them over. Maybe I can get your opinion to change. Logos. Facts. Adopting. It means saving one of the more than six million cats, dogs, or countless other animals who enter U.S. animal shelters EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Adopting is never buying any type of animal. What's the difference between a pet store and an animal shelter? This is one of the most asked questions over this topic. And the answer? Profit. Pet stores. Pet stores sell animals only for the money or profit they can get off that animal. Animal shelters are there to save lives. Get an animal off the street. Animal shelters take unwanted, stray, or abandoned animals. Now you may be thinking about an adoption fee. Wouldn't that basically count as buying? Absolutely not. Shelters use the adoption fee so they can get more positive things for the animals. Food, medicine, spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and other important things for your new companion needs. In other words, your money is going to help animals. Still not convinced adopting is better? Let's take a look at some examples. To convince an audience of the author's credibility or character. Ethical appeal; Ethos. "Each year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a new pet. The number of euthanized animals could be changed dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them." The Humane Society of the United States. Every time you adopt a pet you're saving it's life. Now i'm not a very good example as I just bought a dog from a breeder a week ago, but my family has adopted. We had heard of this pitbull mix that was at the Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter. He had only a couple of days left before he was going to be euthanized. My sister, Jamie, is very in love with pitbulls so we went to go check him Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Persuasive Essay On Animals Believe it or not, humans depend on animals for pretty much everything. They do so much for humans, even though we don't appreciate them the way we should. Animals sacrifice their lives to make ours easier. Although they can't directly communicate with us, we assume that they are here on this earth to do what we want to do with them. The animal kingdom should be able to live freely without having humans control their lives. Humans should have more respect for the animal kingdom and allow animals to live in peace. We, as human beings, don't give animals the proper treatment that they should be getting. We simply use them for anything we desire without the animal's consent. Since they apparently don't have any freedom to tell us no because...show more content... I understand that it's a job, so this guy needs to make a living somehow. The people that think this procedure is okay must have lost their humanity. I don't think I'll ever think of a Thanksgiving turkey in the same way ever again. There's one animal that is extremely similar to humans. They have constantly been compared to humans and they actually are 96 percent in comparison to us. People actually test on these animals in discovering on how it can affect us because the effects on them correlates to what can happen to us. Chimpanzees are the only animals that are remotely related to humans. In a way, they are too similar to us. That there are some who question if they should be classified as humans. An article published by The Times Editorial Board raises the objection that " Animals aren't human, but as living creatures with higher cognitive ability, are they entitled to freedom?" The article also mentions a court case about two chimps, Hercules and Leo. The hearing was to determine if the chimps were "unlawfully detained" at the State University of New Work. According to the editorial, " The hearing is not about whether the chimps, which are apparently kept for anatomical study on movement and muscles, are being treated badly or whether the university is violating any existing animal welfare statutes....The issue is not their welfare but their freedom." The fact that there was even a court case which discussed that since chimps have a "higher cognitive ability" and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Animal Abuse Why would anyone abuse an animal? Animal abuse is rather common, you could be doing it even if you don't think you are. There are many animals that deal with abuse or neglect, about 1,423 animals a year. That's in the U.S. alone. Animals are living creatures, just like you, and they're not cheap. Neglect is another version of abuse, and it can come in many forms. Neglect could be starving them, not giving them medical care, not paying attention to them, etc, etc. Animals are just like humans, I mean, sure they can't make their own meals, and they can't drive a car, but that doesn't mean they have fewer rights than you do. If an animal is abused or neglected the animal will be taken and the owner should be charged. If someone abuses an...show more content... This is the simplest thing to understand. You must take care of your pets, money is only an object. Your pet is family, your pet will be with you through everything if you treat them correctly. Again, pets aren't cheap. Food for a dog or cat can cost $5.00 – $30.00 alone. A pet is like a child. They depend on you to keep them alive and healthy. There are many animals who deal with abuse everyday, and that is not okay. If an animal is neglected or abused the pet will be taken away and the caretaker will be charged $1,500. Animals are very loyal, such as dogs, dogs are one of the most loyal animals you can own. When abused, they don't know where they went wrong. They only know that you are mad at them. Animals, such as humans, shouldn't be abused or neglected. Most animals who are abused or neglected are usually abused unintentionally, but the second most are abused on purpose. The people who abuse animals on purpose sometimes deal with mental illnesses, were abused as children, or have a hard time dealing with stress or anger. Animals are just like humans who have been abused. They are usually skittish and shy. People tend to see animals differently than humans, but they are the same in my eyes. For example, if I locked you in my basement, starved, and beat you, I'd be charged with attempted murder and kidnapping. Pets have the same rights as you to live freely, but people don't see it. You are able to live on your own and take care of yourself, but they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Wild Animals What would our world be like if animals were not walking the streets, begging for food, attacking people and other pets, starving to death, and even causing jail time for humans? The amount of animals we have on our planet is massive. Since 2011, the number of dogs and cats entering shelters annually has declined from approximately 7.2 million. It is about a twenty to one ratio of pets to humans, and that's not including the wild animals we have illegally being kept here in people's backyards. From the number of animals on the streets and in shelters, hoarding cases and abuse, animal cruelty, laws on animals, dog fights, neglect, to people doing jail time due to their pets, there's an abundant amount of issues our country has with the furry creatures and nothing being done about it. This issue is a hot topic in our own town hall meetings and neighborhood meetings with citizens. Placing a pet limit on every household in the United States should be a must in today's society, due to people not being able to juggle their pets, home life, work life, money issues, and family life. The amount of animals on the streets and in shelters is abundant. If there is not a pet limit per house, the percentage of animals on the street will go up due to owners neglecting them since they will not be able to take care of them. According to Kristina Pepelko in the article "Alarming Facts About Pet Homelessness," she states, "There are about 70 million stray animals living in the U.S.". Get more content on HelpWriting.net
