An eating disorder primarily affecting adolescent
girls and young women, characterized by
pathological feat of becoming fat, distorted body

Nervosa and Associated Disorders reported that 5
– 10% of anorexics die within 10 years after

percent of people with bulimia are men.
• Nearly 14 percent of gay men are coping
with bulimia.
• It is estimated that the average age of
bulimia onset among children is 9 – 12
years of age.
