This document defines key terms used to describe the different areas of an image including the foreground, background, and middle ground. It also defines techniques like overlapping and size variation that are used to demonstrate depth in a picture. Questions are provided as examples asking what would be in the foreground, background, and middle ground of an image, as well who or what may be overlapping, and what would appear large to seem closer to the viewer.
