2. Personal Education
• Personal education is a base and a major
principle in the development of family
education, institutions, and society.
• Regarding the personal education we should
try and train ourselves to imitate the behavior
of prophet Muhammad.
3. to emulate the character of the
prophet we need to do several steps:
• Reading, studying and understanding Al-
qur’an.
• Reading, studying and understanding the
prophet sunnah.
• Reading the biography of the prophet
Muhammad.
4. In personal education there are 7
obligations we have to do:
1. The obligation to Allah SWT. There are 10 obligations to
Allah that we must accomplish. They are:
• Faith to Allah SWT
• Being obedient to Allah SWT.
• Dhikr to Allah SWT.
• Praying to Allah SWT.
• Submitting our life to Allah’s hand
• Having prejudiced either to the Allah SWT.
• Being thankful to Allah SWT.
• Being patient to temptation.
• Being sincere in worshiping Allah SWT
• Expecting Allah’s blessing
5. 2. The obligation to the prophet
Muhammad
• Having faith to the prophet Muhammmad.
• Obey all risallah (teachings) and sunnah of the
prophet Muhammad.
• Loving and making him as an ideal figure.
• Remembering to the prophet Muhammad.
• Loving his family and companions.
6. 3. The obligations to parents and
families
• Obeying their all commandments and
prohibitions.
• Upholding and respecting both of them.
• Doing good to them as we can.
• Having pray of plead for them, keeping
promise and honor to their friends.
7. 4. The obligation to ourselves
1. The obligations to body.
• Eating and drinking halal.
• Getting plenty of rest
• Keeping the cleanliness and health of the body
• Taking medicine when get sick.
• Dressed and close the body properly.
• Keeping the body away from the actions that can damage the body.
• Using the five senses and the parts of the body in accordance with Islamic
Shari'a and the pleasure of Allah.
• Adorning ourself with akhlakkul karimah.
2. The obligations to the spritual.
• Obligation to mind.
• The obligation to conscience
• Obligation to lust
8. The obligations towards the fellow of
human beings:
1. Respecting and fulfilling their rights
2. Being gentle and polite
3. Helping each other in goodness
4. Taking the good and forbiding evil.
The obligations to the environment
1. Managing natural resources, does not
damage the environment
2. Using natural resources.
9. Family Education
• Family is the smallest unit of society, good or
not a society is generally determined by the
situation of families in the community.
Therefore, if we wish for a good community,
orderly and blessed God, it should be started
from a family.
• In order to free the family from hell, then we
must educate and foster the family according
to the teachings Muslim.
10. Choosing a pious spouse / shaliha.
There are several factors that should be considered in
selecting a potential life partner, as follows:
1. The main factor is religion (piety).
2. Considering the physical and spiritual health (mental
and minds) are also demanded because it will affect
the quality of their / our future offspring.
3. It is recommended to have a similar level in terms of
age, education, social level, and hobby.
4. Try to love one another; it means that we love
someone that will love us back.
5. Seek the blessing of both parents
11. A marriage
There are several lessons from the marriage, namely:
1. Increasing and expanding the brotherhood, because
marriage is essentially a combination of two different
types of beings are endorsed by religion, but also the
combination of the two families, even more.
2. Continue descent (generation)
3. Avoid fornication and immorality
4. Create a more peaceful heart
5. Increasing happiness
6. Maintaining and enhancing religion
7. Increasing charitable and worshipping
12. There are five laws of marriage
1. Jaiz, which means allowed. This is the origin of
marriage’s law.
2. Sunnah, for those who wish to get married, able and
sufficient to provide the necessity of life to his/her
family.
3. A must. It is purposed for people who are old enough,
have income, and can not keep their lust.
4. Makruh, for people who have not been able to provide
a living and do not have the desire to get married.
5. Haram, for people who intend to hurt the woman that
he married.
13. Husband and wife obligations
1. Obligation of the husband against the wife, as
follows:
• Educate and teach the wife to accomplish Allah order,
keep away from Allah prohibition and show her to have
a noble behaviour.
• Provide a living. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Fear
God in treating women, because you take them with
the mandate of God, and ye lawful right their genitals
with the sentence of God and your duty is to provide a
living and dress them well."
• The husband must give protection to his wife.
• protect the wife from the torment of hell fire.
14. Obligation of the wife against the her
husband, as follows:
1). Complying with the husband
2) Maintain the honor of her husband, family
and property, managing the household, and
educating children.
3). Do good to the family of the husband.
15. Husband and wife's obligation to the
family
• Having a sincere intention to their family in
worshipping and following the sunnah of the
Prophet Muhammad.
• Accept all strength and weaknesses of each
other..
• Help each other in fulfilling the duties and
obligations
• Get used to communicate well
• Instill the religious atmosphere in the family.
16. Man creation, growth and
development process
• The process of man creation includes:
– The unborn child phase including Nuthfah, alaqah,
and mudghgah phase.
– The baby and breastfed phase/ radhi phase (0 – 2
years)
– Childhood phase/ shabi phase ( 2 – 12 years)
– Adolescent phase/ ghulam phase ( 12 – 20 years)
– Adult phase/ syab phase ( 21 – 40 years)
– Middle age phase/ Kahl phase ( 40 – 60 years)
– Old phase/ Syaikh phase ( 60 - ...)
17. The obligations of parents toward
their children
• Being grateful to Allah for the grace and trusteeship in
having a child.
• Having aqiqah which slaughter two goats for the son
and one goat for a daughter.
• Giving a good and noble name to their children.
• Giving a breasfed for two years.
• Having circumcision to children before they get
mature.
• Educating children in a good and proper way.
• As children are getting mature and having a couple,
the parents should get children married.
18. Educating children
• the unity (tawheed) and a faith to Allah (aqeedah) embed such as getting
used the baby to listen Al-Qur’an, islamic sermons, and expressing Allah
words.
• Teach children Al-qur’an and hadis. This can be started by introducing
children the letter and the way to read and to write Al-Qur’an.
• Train the children to perform sholat and other worship such as asking
children to do sholat altogether, teach them the reading and the way in
performing sholat.
• Separating children bed and ask them to close their body which may not
be visible (aurat). This means that separating the son and daughter
bedroom.
• Teach children about Halal and Haram
• Treating children with love such as kissing children in their forehead and
giving advice about Allah’s teaching and the prophet Muhammad moral.
19. • Show children to love each other. This can be accomplished by showing children to
get a respect to older people, helping each other in finishing the tasks and
problems.
• Treat children based on their ability. When parents talk or ask children, they
should pay more attention to children’s ability.
• Being fair to their children
• Give a good example to children
• Consider children’s social gathering such as parents should know their children’s
friends and activities.
• Give recreation to the child and ask them to play sports
• Educate children to be independent such as let children do what they want as ong
as it does not harm theirself and giving love and control appropriately.
• Introduce children to the relative and maintain the relationship with the relative
• Educate children to care to each other
• Educate children to care about the environment
• Bestow islam to the children by teaching Islam to children and family, make used
to worship and do something good.
20. Children’s obligations to the parents
• Obey the parents’ commands
• Respect and do good to the parents
• Ask parents’s permission and blessing
• Help the parents’s job and tasks
• Keep the parents’s good name and mandate
