Offer information and wisdom;
broaden experiences; viewing a
situation from a different
perspective.
KNOWLEDGE AND INSIGHTS
Gain and appreciate universality
of human needs; all human are
alike to some degree; and
develop social justice.
UNDERSTANDING AND EMPATHY
Connection to our past;
appreciate history
HERITAGE AND CULTURAL IDENTITY
Formulate own concepts of right
and wrong; way to test out the
outcomes of their choices.
MORAL REASONING
Recognize styles of authors
and illustrators; select
favorites.
LITERARY AND ARTISTIC PREFERENCES
• the sheer enjoyment of reading,
instils a sense of love for
literature.
• Children literature engages the
child, and creates a pattern, a
ritual whereby children continue
to road, and there by learn and
grow from all its other benefits.
