In reda pump maintenance department there are divide to two section, Machine shop and
foundry.
In machine shop (StageUnit) my duty is to do pm and trouble Shoot CNC machine such as
Mazak, Mori Seiki and Baron. Majority of these cnc machine is using plc to coordinate with NC
controller to respond.
Working in foundry (coreshop(hot and cool), furnace, semi auto machine, sand blast machine)
my duty is to repair, trouble shooting and do pm on these machine, on top of these l also do
additional job such as trouble shooting and repairing of four-way side loader(for store). When
doing Pm or trouble shooting l use circuit or plc diagram to help me solve the problem.
Sometime l need to do fabrication on mechanical or electrical to protect the end user from injury
or electric shock. For the plc we can only monitor by looking at input or output as we are not
allow to do modification on the plc. Sometime l need to improvise when there is no spare parts to
replace the original parts.
In 2012 l got a SILVER performance award for being rapid responding to machine breakdown

in 2015 l got a GOLD performance award for being active in safety advice to the safety

To maintain calendar machine, Coating machine, auto cutting machine and all other facility
equipment. Sometime l need to do electrical installation for new machine by using CP5 as our
guide to do the wire lay out and modify the old contactor controller to a new plc controller.
During calendar pm I had to service the dc motor by using sand paper to resurface the
commutator, if the commutator cut too deep then I have to use regal lathe to resurface it and use
needder file to clean the slot so it will not get short circuit. When l am doing pm on the coating
machine l had to prepare a small tank of oil to do calibration on the RTD temperature sensor to
align with a standard set by the production.
