This document discusses pericoronal lesions, which are lesions associated with the crowns of unerupted or impacted teeth. It describes several types of pericoronal radiolucent lesions including follicular spaces, dentigerous cysts, mural ameloblastoma, adenomatoid odontogenic tumors, and calcifying odontogenic cysts/tumors. Dentigerous cysts are the most common pathologic pericoronal radiolucency and usually occur in the mandibular molars, maxillary canines, and mandibular premolars of patients in their second to third decades of life.
