Classroom Management Plan
Section I: Classroom Set Up and Organization:
There are many different things to consider when organizing
and setting up a classroom. Within my classroom, there will be
a clipboard that is visible as soon as you walk into the room
that allows the students to share with the teacher if they have
packed their own lunch or will be buying. This clipboard will
also help with the attendance for the day. To the left, there will
be small cubbies for the students to place their coats and
lunches. There will be plenty of visuals within the classroom
with instructions written on the whiteboard on the right-hand
side of the room that lists the daily routine, this will help the
students work independently first thing in the morning. The
student’s desks will be placed into small groups ranging from 4-
5 desks. This arrangement of desks will provide plenty of
pathways for the students walk through. The pathways will
make it easier for the students to make their way to the teacher
or to other corners of the room that provide reading material
and manipulatives. My desk will be at the front of the
classroom, which will be easily accessible to all the students.
Section II: Classroom Rules and Procedures:
As it is difficult to expect good behavior from students if the
students do not know what is expected from them. During the
first day of class, I will attach a short list of classroom rules
and procedures on each desk. I will then go over the list of
classroom rules and procedures with the entire class. Once the
discussion of rules and procedures is completed, I will hand out
to each student a copy of the classroom rules and procedures,
which will go into the student’s folders for their
parents/guardians to review.
Classroom Rules:
Be respectful of others.
Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
“Hands on Top, Everybody Stop.”
Have fun learning.
Classroom Procedures:
Place lunch boxes / coats in the designated cubby at the
beginning of class.
Move the clip on the clipboard to show you are present and
whether you are buying lunch or packed your lunch.
Sit quietly within your seats during morning announcement.
Section III: Classroom Rewards and Consequences:
Positive reinforcements within a classroom are very important
to help build a student’s confidence. When a student’s follow
the rules, they should be rewarded. This reward should be
provided to the student in front of the class to help acknowledge
his/her success. The students that are rewarded will be able to
assist the teacher in the beginning of the class the following
day. As this might not seem too exciting, the student will also
be able to have an extended recess or extended time with the
“Fun” area within the classroom that has many manipulatives.
When it comes to consequences, a student will not be rewarded
for poor behavior or for making poor decisions. First, the
student must understand that their actions was a result of a poor
decision that was made. The consequences for demonstrating
poor behavior would consist of the student receiving a warning
and then going into a so-called time out area if the behavior
persists. If the student is still unwilling to demonstrate good
behavior, the student will then lose a point or two for the day.
All parents and guardians will be aware of the point systems
and will be notified daily when a point is taken away. Lastly, if
the student is still unable to calm down and demonstrate good
behavior, the student will then be instructed to go to the office.
Professor and Class,
My classroom management plan is designed for an all-day
kindergarten class. This plan will include my classroom setup,
daily procedures and my behavioral rewards and consequences.
Section one: Classroom Set up and Organization:
For classroom setup and organization, I will start by first giving
everything a home. Meaning where the class library will go,
where their homework folders will be turned in, where their
jackets and backpacks will me hung up or placed in a cubby.
Ensuring that everything has a home and making sure that
everything is organized will make a welcoming environment for
my students learning. My desk will be placed in an area where I
can see all of my students at all times so that I can ensure their
safety. On my desk there will be a container where students can
put their unshaped pencils so I can sharpen them when they
need to be sharpened and place them in the sharped pencil
container where students can go to get a new pencil should they
need one. On the students decks they will all have pencil boxes
containing pencils, color pencils, highlighters and extra erasers.
Section two: Classroom Rules and Dailey Procedures:
From the start of the school year I will have a classroom rules
chart that I will have hung in the classroom so that the students
can visually see it. I will go over the rules on the first day and
enforce them daily, meaning going back over them as needed to
ensure that the students know what expectations I have for my
classroom. When a student does not follow the rules, I will refer
back to the rules I placed on the wall and reread them again to
make them clear.
My Classroom Rules are as follows:
Keep our hands and feet to ourselves. No touching other
students including their personal items.
Have respectful listening ears. Listen when it’s not your turn to
talk, raise your hand if you have questions, no blurting or
interrupting when its my turn or when it’s your peers turn.
Walking feet inside the classroom and in the hallways.
Be ready to learn and have your thinking cap on.
Raise your hand if you need to go to the bathroom and do not
leave the classroom unless you have permission from your
teacher.
Give it your all every day!
Section three: Behavioral rewards and consequences:
Positive behavior will be met with rewards or praise.
For positive behavior I will do the follow in my kindergarten
classroom:
Verbal praise
Extra recess
Prize box
Happy note home to show their family
In my kindergarten class we will have a color chart that will
have purple for outstanding behavior, green for good behavior,
yellow for a warning and red for bad behavior such as, not
listening, not following the rules, being disruptive or harming
another student.
For negative Behavior the consequences will be as follows:
Verbal warning
Moving of their clip from green to yellow and a personal talk
with me.
Moving their clip from yellow to red, losing their next recess
and a note home.
If the behavior is extremely disruptive, they will then get a
phone call home, a office visit and another loss of recess.

  • 6. *5 point deduction for lack of American peer reviewed, scholarly, journal reference Spring 2020 Classroom Management Plan Section I: Classroom Set Up and Organization: There are many different things to consider when organizing and setting up a classroom. Within my classroom, there will be a clipboard that is visible as soon as you walk into the room that allows the students to share with the teacher if they have packed their own lunch or will be buying. This clipboard will also help with the attendance for the day. To the left, there will be small cubbies for the students to place their coats and lunches. There will be plenty of visuals within the classroom with instructions written on the whiteboard on the right-hand side of the room that lists the daily routine, this will help the students work independently first thing in the morning. The student’s desks will be placed into small groups ranging from 4- 5 desks. This arrangement of desks will provide plenty of pathways for the students walk through. The pathways will make it easier for the students to make their way to the teacher or to other corners of the room that provide reading material and manipulatives. My desk will be at the front of the classroom, which will be easily accessible to all the students. Section II: Classroom Rules and Procedures: As it is difficult to expect good behavior from students if the students do not know what is expected from them. During the first day of class, I will attach a short list of classroom rules and procedures on each desk. I will then go over the list of classroom rules and procedures with the entire class. Once the discussion of rules and procedures is completed, I will hand out
  • 7. to each student a copy of the classroom rules and procedures, which will go into the student’s folders for their parents/guardians to review. Classroom Rules: Be respectful of others. Raise your hand and wait to be called on. “Hands on Top, Everybody Stop.” Have fun learning. Classroom Procedures: Place lunch boxes / coats in the designated cubby at the beginning of class. Move the clip on the clipboard to show you are present and whether you are buying lunch or packed your lunch. Sit quietly within your seats during morning announcement. Section III: Classroom Rewards and Consequences: Positive reinforcements within a classroom are very important to help build a student’s confidence. When a student’s follow the rules, they should be rewarded. This reward should be provided to the student in front of the class to help acknowledge his/her success. The students that are rewarded will be able to assist the teacher in the beginning of the class the following day. As this might not seem too exciting, the student will also be able to have an extended recess or extended time with the “Fun” area within the classroom that has many manipulatives. When it comes to consequences, a student will not be rewarded for poor behavior or for making poor decisions. First, the student must understand that their actions was a result of a poor decision that was made. The consequences for demonstrating poor behavior would consist of the student receiving a warning and then going into a so-called time out area if the behavior persists. If the student is still unwilling to demonstrate good behavior, the student will then lose a point or two for the day. All parents and guardians will be aware of the point systems and will be notified daily when a point is taken away. Lastly, if the student is still unable to calm down and demonstrate good behavior, the student will then be instructed to go to the office.
  • 8. Professor and Class, My classroom management plan is designed for an all-day kindergarten class. This plan will include my classroom setup, daily procedures and my behavioral rewards and consequences. Section one: Classroom Set up and Organization: For classroom setup and organization, I will start by first giving everything a home. Meaning where the class library will go, where their homework folders will be turned in, where their jackets and backpacks will me hung up or placed in a cubby. Ensuring that everything has a home and making sure that everything is organized will make a welcoming environment for my students learning. My desk will be placed in an area where I can see all of my students at all times so that I can ensure their safety. On my desk there will be a container where students can put their unshaped pencils so I can sharpen them when they need to be sharpened and place them in the sharped pencil container where students can go to get a new pencil should they need one. On the students decks they will all have pencil boxes containing pencils, color pencils, highlighters and extra erasers. Section two: Classroom Rules and Dailey Procedures: From the start of the school year I will have a classroom rules chart that I will have hung in the classroom so that the students can visually see it. I will go over the rules on the first day and enforce them daily, meaning going back over them as needed to ensure that the students know what expectations I have for my classroom. When a student does not follow the rules, I will refer back to the rules I placed on the wall and reread them again to make them clear. My Classroom Rules are as follows: Keep our hands and feet to ourselves. No touching other students including their personal items. Have respectful listening ears. Listen when it’s not your turn to talk, raise your hand if you have questions, no blurting or
  • 9. interrupting when its my turn or when it’s your peers turn. Walking feet inside the classroom and in the hallways. Be ready to learn and have your thinking cap on. Raise your hand if you need to go to the bathroom and do not leave the classroom unless you have permission from your teacher. Give it your all every day! Section three: Behavioral rewards and consequences: Positive behavior will be met with rewards or praise. For positive behavior I will do the follow in my kindergarten classroom: Verbal praise Extra recess Prize box Happy note home to show their family In my kindergarten class we will have a color chart that will have purple for outstanding behavior, green for good behavior, yellow for a warning and red for bad behavior such as, not listening, not following the rules, being disruptive or harming another student. For negative Behavior the consequences will be as follows: Verbal warning Moving of their clip from green to yellow and a personal talk with me. Moving their clip from yellow to red, losing their next recess and a note home. If the behavior is extremely disruptive, they will then get a phone call home, a office visit and another loss of recess.
