This document discusses the potential for using social media and games (PEACE 3.0) to promote peacebuilding efforts, especially among youth. It argues that social media now reaches billions of people worldwide and can facilitate dialogue rather than just monologue. Case studies are presented showing how social media exchanges and serious games that simulate real-world events can provide skills and a sense of purpose for youth, as well as teach about non-violent strategies and allow people to manage humanitarian crises in a simulated environment. The overall message is that social media and games, if leveraged correctly, could have significant positive impact in building peace.
