OUTLINE OF PROPOSED PRODUCT/SERVICE

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Customers would be able to have the following benefits:
    • Convenience and Control over one’s expenses. Pay as You Go – fill up credit on to your account, use it to make
voice calls, SMS, Data etc – fill up again when it is consumed..
    • No lengthy paperwork and documentation – only proof of ID and residence required.
    • Flexibility for monthly fee/rentals should be supportde. You pay for what you use – an end life cycle event is
       required.
    • No need to deactivate connection – just stop using or don’t fill up again.

Milestones in Prepaid Life Cycle:
    • Buying a card with a particular (i) airtime amount, (ii) talktime validity end-date and (iii) card expiry date.
    • Recharging (or filling up) with talktime and topping up the available talktime balance, and acquiring a new validity end-
date and card expiry date. If balance reached zero, incoming calls to be allowed until the end validity period or end of
card expiry date (business rule to be examined). Outgoing calls that are not charged would be possible e.g. free
         phone nos., card recharging, etc.
    • Talktime Expiry if some of the talktime remains unused after the validity end-date.
    • The period between talktime validity end date and card expiry date called grace period. Grace period of ‘x’ days (to be
confirmed). Incoming calls may be allowed during grace period (business rule to be examined), outgoing calls not
possible as talktime balance has expired, , except emergency calls, call to IVR recharge functionality, SMS to recharging
Short code & USSD recharge. Card could be recharged within the grace period, but unused talktime may get lost
(or Newtel can devise a business rule – unused talktime can be used again after recharging during grace period).
After charging outgoing calls to be resumed.
    • If card not charged within grace period, it gets deactivated, the number goes for recycling (quarantined for ‘x’ months
         and then recycled).
    • If the card is recharged during talktime validity, both cummulative and max value options should be supported(e.g
if recharge is 10 days before end of talktime validity, it shhould be possible to reconduct the talktime validity period
as per max set or cummulate the talktime validity + the 10 days) .
    • Same recharging Cards should be used for Mobile, Fixed and Internet.

There would be various kinds of prepaid price plans, and hence more than one type of prepaid customers. However, the
there would be no new milestones applying to any of them. Some of the milestones described may not be applicable to
some types of prepaid customers, or the values may differ – e.g . talktime validity end-date, card expiry date, etc. Please also
refer to Pricing Alternatives document for mobile subscriptions for an exhaustive list of pricing options.

BAH to define Business rules regarding any (i) Pricing – call charges and daily, monthly annual subscription charges, (ii) airtime vaildity,
(iii) airtime expiry, (iv) card expiry date, (v) quarantine period for prepaid connections, (vi) recycling of prepaid numbers (MSISDNs), etc.
