The Entrepreneurial Intentions among the Undergraduates Involved in Business ...ijtsrd
Universities play a major role in producing entrepreneurs. Until recently, fostering innovations and new product development through entrepreneurship has not been regarded as a primary task of universities. Although the graduates are given the education on entrepreneurship, it is reported that they have less willingness to start their own business. Lack of entrepreneurial intentions among the undergraduates impact adversely for the economic development of the country as entrepreneurship is a major source of employment generation and economic development. Thus, scholars emphasize more on investigating the factors stimulating the interest of undergraduates to become an entrepreneur. On the above backdrop, present study was undertaken to understand the factors affecting the entrepreneurial intentions of the undergraduates involved in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship courses in Sri Lankan Universities. Organisations both in the private and public sector across the globe rely on their workforce for optimum productivity which will in turn result to organisational efficiency. In this case, the need for ensuring employee job satisfaction becomes a matter of necessity to every organisation. Though, studies have been conducted by various researchers and scholars in this area, there is however the need to conduct more studies on job satisfaction and performance of an employee since the employees are believed to be an indispensable part of an organisation. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and performance of non-academic staff of Bauchi State University Gadau Nigeria (BASUG). Dissatisfaction is believed to be one of the major factors that demotivates and demoralise employee in the workplace which can result to lower productivity thereby affecting the overall performance of the organisation. Consequently an aggregate of two hundred and seventy questionnaires were distributed non- academic staff of BASUG based on systematic random sampling and data collected is analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The outcome of the analysis depicts that there is positive and significant relationship between job satisfactions on the performance of non- academic staff of the University. The study will serve as a policy guide to the management of the Nigerian Universities in areas relating to employee performance improvement through job satisfaction and it will also further make an impetus the field of organisational behaviour and human resource management

Recruitment Practices And Staff Performance In Public Universities: A Case St...QUESTJOURNAL
ABSTRACT: Recruitment, as a human resource management function, is one of the activities that impact most critically on the performance of any organization irrespective of its size and location. Public Universities, known to train professionals that exhibit transformative leadership and successfully run blue-chip companies have equally suffered from rampart industrial unrest and human resource malpractices across Kenya. Could it be a unique trend of organizational deviance that could be reflecting absence of a well executed staff recruitment practice? While it is understood and accepted that poor recruitment decisions continue to affect organizational performance and limit goal achievement, knowledge about this aspect in Public Universities remains scanty. The aim of this study was to address this gap by evaluating how recruitment practices affect performance of administrative staff in Public Universities using Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Kenya as a case reference. A cross-sectional survey design was employed while sampling strategy was a blend of multiphase, stratified and purposive sampling. A sample size of 124 out of 1150 comprised mainly of administrative staff was used and that a questionnaire was the principal tool of data collection. Results were analyzed using frequency tables, mean, standard deviation and simple linear regression. The study found that a recruitment policy existed at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Kenya and that both external and internal recruitment practices were used to recruit employees at the University. However, it was noted that most of the university employees are recruited through media advert, internal advertisement, through transfers and promotions. The results of the regression indicated that recruitment practices are a significant predictor of employee performance, which was explained by 32% of variance and a moderate relationship captured by beta weight value of 0.57. On effectiveness of the recruitment policy, only 30% rated it as effective while 62% were indifferent and 8% rated it ineffective. The study concluded that although a significant relationship between recruitment practices and employee performance existed, it’s effectiveness and therefore positive impact on employee performance depended on employees’ positive perception and rating. It’s recommended that the Universities should avoid biasness in the recruitment process as this will negatively impact on employee performance.
An Evaluation of the Comprehensiveness of the BSc Honours in Psychology Degre...iosrjce
No matter how well designed or filled with cogent material curricula are, they cannot adequately prepare an
early career professional for working with practical situations and puzzles. Of late, ZOU has an influx of undergraduates
who are straight from high school and these have limited exposure to field experiences. Hence even after graduation, the
practicality of their fields of study is elusive. This was an exploratory research whose findings will be used to evaluate the
psychology programme offered at ZOU. The study used a qualitative methodology and purposive sampling to select the
participants and data sources. Data was collected through depth interviews, document analysis and focus group discussions.
The research has a longitudinal element; hence the sample included 25 BSc. Honours in Psychology graduates from ZOU
within the past 5 years. Data were analysed using thematic content review. The findings revealed that, the students lacked
perceptual understanding of the fields of psychology and most of the practical concepts were imaginary in the absence of
practical exposure. From the participants, 100% were not practicing psychology, 100% were not registered and 92% were
not utilizing psychology qualification in their scope of work. The study recommends an evaluation of the 4 year Psychology
Programme in terms of development, efficiency, effectiveness and relevance

Study of Performance Appraisal System for Faculty Members in Selected Managem...ijtsrd
"Performance Appraisal provides a periodic review and evaluation of an individual’s job performance. Although the appraisal forms may only be completed once a year, the job of performance appraisal is continuous – sometimes daily and requires effective communication on both the part of the supervisor and the Respondent. The supervisor is ultimately responsible to make sure these conversations actually take place and are documented. It is essential that the supervisor hold all performance discussions and documentation in complete confidence. Every organization is having an objective towards optimum performance and the Respondent is the key in achieving it. It is necessary that the Respondents performance should reach optimality for the success of the organization. Many organizations are having performance appraisal systems to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of their Respondent using linguistic labels to their performance. In a production unit, Respondent performance is proportional to the quality and quantity of production, where as in case of educational institute there is no such direct tool available to evaluate the productivity of its faculty members. In judging efficiency of faculty members, often the institute deals with vague or imprecise data resulting to an inconsistence performance evaluation. This study has been particularly taken by the researcher to understand the present scenario of the institute performance appraisal system in these colleges. Researcher wants to find out the weather appraisal is really helping Respondents for the better future or not. Mr. Santosh V. Hasure | Mr. Viraj V.
